Our PhD students, Carina Fiedler, @snee.la and @hannesweissteiner.com attended the NDSS Symposium 2026 in San Diego, California, this week to present their papers!
Check them out in the thread 👇
I'm looking forward to presenting my paper, "Continuous User Behavior Monitoring using DNS Cache Timing Attacks" at NDSS next week!
We mount an Evict+Reload-style attack on the local DNS cache, detecting recently accessed domains and evicting to continuously monitor new accesses.
We're waving goodbye to Inffeldgasse 16A! 👋
Today marks our final day here, and we're really excited about the adventures waiting for us at our fabulous new place at Sandgasse 38A.
We can't wait to see all of you there after the move! 🥳
Missed our conference this year?
No problem! All uASC'26 paper presentations and talks are available on Youtube. 🥳

vibecoded web apps have such boring security bugs. "the whole database was wide open". oh. ok.
at least have some class and write some sql-injectable php. maybe a little stack buffer overflow as a treat.
Got caught up in a really good book last night. I didn't stop coloring till 2 o'clock this morning.
If you're attending NDSS 2026 this year in San Diego, California, USA, let me know - it'd be awesome to meet up!
CVE-2025-21691 was assigned to fixing one of our discoveries, a bug in the recently-introduced cachestat system call.

Our artifacts have been evaluated to be available, functional, and reproducible, so feel free to try the code out: github.com/isec-tugraz/...
In the paper, we revive practical attacks on the Linux page cache and provide a systematic classification & understanding of primitives interacting with page cache. This understanding helps us advance page cache attacks, including speeding up previously known mechanisms by six orders of magnitude.
I'm excited to announce that my first first-author paper is accepted at NDSS 2026 🥳.

OK, this is wild.
In September 2023, geophysicists across the world started monitoring a very odd signal coming from the ground under them.
It was picked up in the Arctic. And Antarctica. It was detected everywhere, every 90 seconds, as regular as a metronome, for *nine days*.
What the HELL?

This picture is concerning. The planet is much closer to us than I thought.
Out of all possibilities, this is the one that I will go with for the reference 😂.
by the age of 30 you should have at least 5000 PDFs in your downloads folder
You can set your public URL to get rid of the numbers at the end, should you want to :D

I'm very happy to announce our new Cohere+Reload: Re-enabling High-Resolution Cache Attacks on AMD SEV-SNP was accepted at DIMVA 2025!
In it @snee.la, @gruss.cc and I investigate AMD's ciphertext coherence mechanism and show even low resolution leakage can go a long way.
