People are asking a lot “how is this happening?” It’s happening the way abolitionists have warned you for decades it’s happening — you can’t dehumanize whole groups of people, pay for their brutalization & not expect for more bounty hunters to come.

Finally got around to a bit of research I'd been meaning to explore, and: There is no documented instance of an ICE officer being identified and assaulted while off duty because he wasn't masked. www.pbump.net/o/ices-excus...
“To the administration and the perpetrators responsible, you have awakened the most overworked, abused, under-appreciated, and organized workforce…”
-San Diego vigil for Alex Pretti organized by VA nurses
LAPD would delete nearly 12 million body camera videos under proposed policy change www.latimes.com/california/s...
Because many people on here are talking about making demands, it might be worth thinking about the goal. Body cameras, unmasking, and making it easier to sue will not reduce the number of people arrested and condemned to jail to die, suffer and/or be deported.
ICE went out to dinner in Lynwood, and the people came out to protest. LA County Sheriff’s Department is out there protecting ICE now. #LASD www.instagram.com/reel/DUE9oWX...
Chuck Schumer just announced demands on DHS to avoid shutdown:
1. End roving patrols, tighten rules on warrants
2. Enforce accountability & unified code of conduct for agents
3. No more masks & require bodycams
There are *already* standards on much of this.
The issue is DHS isn't following them!
ICE & CBP never left Los Angeles. In fact, today the feds set a daily record for number of kidnappings.
Do not fall for the trap of “X says they’re leaving the city.” LA may have disappeared from the headlines but it’s still going on. We must continue to organize & fight back. Solidarity 🖤
This what this list of raids looks like... And we’re still learning of more late. We’ll have to update this in the morning.

Worth a read. Per the article McDonnell says there are multiple "documented" cases of officers being attacked. Okay, then show the video and evidence then. There were cameras everywhere.
Yesterday, we reclaimed public space for another Really, Really Free Market! While LA politicians cut services, increase criminalization, and collaborate with fascists, hundreds of everyday people from across Los Angeles came together in community to meet each other’s needs. We take care of us!
A bit earlier: National Guard shooting into a gaggle of press and demonstrators. “This os America!” one demonstrator shouts
Nat Guard/DHS threw tear gas canisters and smoke grenades into the crowd. Protesters and media hit. Pellet rounds deployed. All to seemingly clear path for a convoy of DHS/Border Patrol vehicles. I got hit but fine after an eye rinse.
Los Angeles, CA - a ma ch from the Boyle heights neighborhood is approaching Metro Detention Center, where a number of immigrant detainees are held.
Protesters in the street. A sign says stop ethnic cleansing of LA and Palestine. Someone is carrying a Mexican flag.
Protest march arrived at downtown LA detention center.
“People came over to help and got me on the curb. A medic was called, who cut off my clothes. In my leg was what felt like a five centimeter hole with muscle hanging out of it and blood all down my leg. The medic put a tourniquet on it, and a journalist I was with took me to ER.”
About 100 protesters beginning a I march from Boyle Heights in Los Angeles, towards downtown Los Angeles. Chanting “whose streets? Our streets!”
STOP GOING DOWNTOWN.
Estás en el barrio, staying around there gathers vecinos who didn’t see your flyers and posts.
Going to DTLA is where you will get kettled.
Dolores Huerta, a 95 year old labor organizer with deep roots going back even before the Delano Grape Strike in 1965, here in Boyle Heights speaking at a protest. She called the past several days of detainments throughout Los Angeles a “horrible assault.”
Greetings! I’m at Mariachi Plaza in the Boyle Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles, CA. A crowd of several dozen are here protesting against immigration raids within the community. An organizer warming up the crowd. Crowd is very energetic.
On assignment for @lapublicpress.bsky.social
Never said to go on federal property. They can’t arrest a dozen crowds of hundreds scattered across the city & county. That’s the whole point.
“Proud liberals” know nothing about actual resistance
Grand park makes it easy for police to crowd control. Consider federal buildings.
Earlier, federal police in DTLA shot me in the finger with a pepper ball, and I got hit multiple times in the back w/ "less-lethal" rounds. Looks like my backpack saved me from getting hit in the back a few more times. I'm currently resting up at home.
Earlier this evening, the Univision crew grabbed their gear and started running when federal police began shooting pepper balls at us. @lataco.bsky.social
LASD firing multiple rounds at a group of protesters behind a makeshift barrier that includes a refrigerator
Exactly this. Go to TikTok. Look at the lives. It’s 400 people OUTSIDE LA, standing outside an ICE facility and they are making the ruling class shake. This is a sign of weakness on the part of the ruler: they are afraid and they can be stopped.
