Everyone… you did it! You’ve made it possible for this disabled editor to have my needs met while I work on editing this new anthology.
Thank you so much!
have there been similarly culturally pervasive “everyone needs to start using this tech right now” pushes over such a relatively brief time frame as we’re currently seeing with LLMs? (This is a very genuine question)
Some data on how people are actually reading more and book sales are up, much as I suspected.
Not to think piece about this, but I think this says a lot on how some creatives are able to do work because their partner/family is able to support their lifestyle.
This says a lot of how little our society values some creative work, not a jab at Rama Duwaji.
Some good news

An embroidery hoop containing a sewn aerial view landscape. It depicts an apple orchard in bloom in the centre, allotments to the left and sheep in their field at the bottom. Train tracks go past the top of the orchard and allotment.
Sewn train tracks past an apple orchard (to the left).
An angled view of a sewn vegetable allotment surrounded by rough land, trees and with train tracks to the left.
An angled view of embroidered bushes and paths going through them leading to an orchard, allotment and fields.
'A simple (perfect) life' - my spring landscape is finally finished! An apple orchard in bloom, old railway, sheep with their lambs and an allotment being prepared for growing :) Zoom in to see all the other tiny details too... I think this might be my favourite aerial embroidery I've ever done!
[alt text by NASA] The Moon, seen here backlit by the Sun during a solar eclipse on April 6, 2026, is photographed by one of the cameras on the Orion spacecraft’s solar array wings. Orion is visible in the foreground on the left. Earth is reflecting sunlight at the left edge of the Moon, which is slightly brighter than the rest of the disk. The bright spot visible just below the Moon’s bottom right edge is Saturn. Beyond that, the bright spot at the right edge of the image is Mars. Credit: NASA
Whoa 🤯
The Moon, in full eclipse, with the #Artemis II Orion spacecraft. Part of the Moon and spacecraft are lit by Earthshine, and both Saturn and Mars are visible to the lower right. Incredible. Details: images.nasa.gov/details/art0...
Thanks for your work on this!
Thyme Travellers was one of my fave books in 2024 (and a year-end pick for the shop), and I’m glad to support the next one! Do it!

So far I’ve listened to one of the short stories in this collection and it is excellent!
Always!
Worth watching! AI bicycles vs. rockets is the analogy that stuck with me most. I came away hopeful and better equipped to deal with the whole topic re: workplace, climate, creativity. Thanks, Karen.

this is completely insane: since when is it acceptable for a tech company to rewrite news outlets' headlines without their consent? especially at a time when audiences are sensitive to how stories are framed in headlines? (ie Israel/Palestine, the Trump admin, ICE)
