Pavement parking is dangerous to wheelchair users, visually impaired people and parents walking their children to school. Write to your MP & ask them to vote on a crucial Government amendment to reclaim pavements for pedestrians. @livingstreets.bsky.social‬

Something isn't adding up about Mandelson's vetting.

Not looking good for Starmer and to add insult to injury he blocked Andy Burnham. What a mess.

Brutal assessment. Hard to argue with.

Why is it, when it was Starmer who made the decision to appoint Mandelson, that everyone else is having to resign?

Top Foreign Office official Olly Robbins to leave post after Mandelson vetting row Sir Olly Robbins has effectively been sacked after his department did not inform the prime minister that Lord Mandelson had failed security vetting.

Top Foreign Office official to leave post after Mandelson vetting row.

Human sacrifice to save Starmer.

What did Mandelson do to fail security vetting?

Inconceivable that Starmer didn't ask if Mandelson was cleared by security before appointing him.

Time to go Mr Starmer.

Two train sections, one each along the length of the photo, both inside a ferry boat with a blue floor and white walls. There are yellow sections on the floor indicating safe areas to walk and highlighting the rails integrated into the floor. The trains are close together at the prow of the boat, with daylight glowing between the trains where they almost meet.

Photo taken from the deck of a boat, with a large open area to the floor below. A navy train with a red stripe has a "comfort" logo in white showing a person laying down. The floor under the train is blue with bright yellow markings. The battery on top of another train section it in the foreground. Water and islands are visible beyond the boat.

I took an overnight train from Milan to Sicily, and the train drove onto a ferry, we all got off and enjoyed the boat, and then the train drove off the ferry.

The result is huge. Vast in its consequences. Orban was the inspiration to all those who came after him. He served as Putin's puppet, undermining Europe from within and Ukraine from without. He funded a vast network of fascists around the world. It's all vulnerable now, or falling apart entirely.

Yup. The only reason Orban is accepting his defeat is that he knows that if he were to attempt to hold onto power by force, he'd wind up as a street ornament.

Pop along to West Berkshire Museum to see a replica of a piece of decoratively carved wood which experts believe is the oldest ever found in Britain. The 6,000-year-old piece of oak, found in Boxford, West Berks, is now on display there.

The Home Office' anti-immigration agenda is strangling growth across the economy. It prevents a closer relationship with Europe, deprives us of the workers we need and undermines universities.

An old photo of the Weyerhaeuser Timber Company White River Branch locomotive 1 on display inside the Train Shed Exhibit Hall. The picture does not do its massive scale justice.

When visitors first step into the Train Shed, they are awed by the size of the Weyerhaeuser locomotive and often wonder aloud, "How did they get those IN here?" It can be hard to see past the rolling stock, but the answer is quite simple: REALLY BIG DOORS!

Reform actively WANT to tie us to volatile markets, to make us beholden to other countries, to give others leverage over us and leave us at the mercy of greedy oil execs and global shocks (what happened to sovereignty?!) They’re not patriots, they’d leave us vulnerable just to secure donations.

At the last Kent County Council election Reform had 37% of the vote but that gave them 70% of councillors! Since the election they have lost 10 councillors due to internal friction, expulsions, and rival splinter groups. They deserve to lose in #Cliftonville

A man leans against a wall in a waiting room with his legs crossed, hands in pockets, and a rolled up newspaper sticking out of his jacket pocket. Behind him, several other men sit on benches while reading, talking to each other, or staring into space. Litter is on the floor. One man is facing the opposite direction as he holds a cigarette, giving the impression he is a member of staff sitting behind a desk because a bench in the foreground blocks the view of him below his waist. But he is probably another client waiting with the others.

Ten years after Brexit, this is the UK: a divided nation frozen in time | Aditya Chakrabortty Tribalism has not faded over the past decade. Instead, new research reveals our politics has become ever-more polarised and fractious, says Guardian columnist Aditya Chakrabortty

“We live in an era of polarisation and grift, of blatant lying and blaming institutions. We only got here by passing such milestones as the Brexit vote, which turned into a long national breakdown that set neighbours and families against each other. And for what?”
