A close-up of a spiral galaxy, seen face-on. Its center glows brightly. From the sides of the galaxy’s core emerge spiral arms which wind through the round disc of the galaxy, filled with shining pink spots where stars are forming and more dark-red dust. Some faint stars can be seen around the galaxy, as well as a particularly bright star in the lower left of the image.
🦑💫This NASA/ESA Hubble image features the spiral galaxy Messier 77, also known as the Squid Galaxy.
It would take more than a century between the discovery of the galaxy and the realisation that the ‘spiral nebulae’ scattered across the sky were not part of our own galaxy!

Shooting stars fly across the Winter Milky Way on a star filled night near Limon, Colorado. Foregrounded by a barbed wire fence and a wooden gate, this single shot image expresses the rural beauty and dark, transparent skies of the Eastern Plains of Colorado.
I glimpse eternity
And retreat ✨️
To the blissful now.

An image of the M3 globular cluster. A spherical shape grouping of 500,000 stars.
I imaged my first globular cluster of the year! The M3 cluster is one of the largest and brightest and is made up of around 500,000 stars. It is estimated to be 11.4 billion years old and roughly 32,600 light-years from Earth.

A photo of the total lunar eclipse, in which the full Moon is bathed in a deep orangish-red color.
Clouds parted just in time for maximum totality at 1:58 a.m. here. The total lunar eclipse as viewed from my front door:

Also, friendly reminder to work on your self-esteem. You are worth more than you can fathom. You know more than you think you do. You are capable of so much more. Keep going, don't give up! ✌️

Imposter syndrome at it's finest. We all go through it, regardless of the field, but it can also make us strive to get better in our field. Use it to your advantage! Prove yourself you're worth the recognition and praise for things you do. Because you are and it will only get better with time!
