It's #SpringCleaning time, and "Cleaning Up!" is OUT on Steam, Nintendo Switch and PlayStation. 📅🧹
✨The joy of cleaning with none of the mess✨
If you played already, would you kindly leave a Steam review 🙏 ? It feeds the hungry algorithms and helps us improve our games!
are you even a real indie developer if your mood, mental health, and physical well-being doesn't depend entirely and solely on your game's steam review score?
🌱For every copy sold, 1 real tree gets planted🌱
🌳Treeplanter is out now on Steam!🌳

Cleaning Up! has been out for 2 days and we got all sorts of feedback! Some players feel it's too short, so we're considering a... content update maybe?
If you played it - what would you like to see next?
▶ More levels?
▶ Harder challenge mode?
▶ New tool(s)?
▶ Endless Mode?
▶ ...other?
I fucked up signing up for some online conferences during COVID and now the email has been resold like a thousand times. no way of undoing the damage now T_T
They're not "Curators" Nate, they're A TEAM OF PASSIONATE WRITERS AND GAME ENTHUSIASTS

Oooh yea, It's a whole different skillset. I also tried managing to projects side by side this year and that was also a whole other thing I wasn't equipped for, lulz

The pre-launch anxiety is real, but it's a little reassuring to open Steam in incognito browser and see our #indiegame made it to Popular Upcoming 🙏 There is hope!
"Cleaning Up!" is now #SteamDeck verified!!!
Just in time for launch tomorrow!
Both Rain on Your Parade and Just Crow Things made the list, but with busier release schedule and our current stats, I was actually really anxious if we'll make it again... so it feels really validating to make the list (even if it doesn't mean the game will be a success yet)

Is there a better alternative? So far we've just gone with the good old "email the creators" approach.
They cap the organic requests at 10 a month (ridiculously small number), idk which plan even unblocks it at this point.
Looks like they have something like 50-100 different plans between all the tabs, what the fuck
Next we just need a gacha mechanic where you pay for a chance to send a key request to random streamers
First time looking at keymailer in a while and what the hell is this
It's almost Spring Cleaning time 🧹🍂
Just two more days till release of our cozy cleaning #indiegame!

"A passkey? Wasn't that what the Password was for???"
Game devs, plz tell me how "pausing the game" works in your game? Is it weird? Is it simple? Is it janky?
I'm curious how such a common feature--the ability to pause and check your settings, etc--actually works & what happens when players hit pause!

Basically, Timescale = 0 and all of the input code checks if Timescale is 0 and just doesn't execute. Has worked great for bunch of our games lol
Putting the fixed camera constraint and designing the levels around it created a much smoother experience. You could zoom around and be a little Crow menace, without constantly trying to orient yourself in 3D space, guessing how high or far you are from things, or forgetting which way is north.
💯 In Just Crow Things, some streamers complained about the locked camera, wishing they could rotate it any way.
...which is how it initially worked and it was awful! Testers were constantly fighting the camera, getting confused and lost. In the end, it's a casual/cozy game, not a space flight sim.
