In American Housewife, Greg’s writing ritual (Wonder Woman pose, jazz, almonds, port) gets ruined by interruptions.

Don Norman’s The Design of Everyday Things reminds us: in real life, interruptions = errors.

Lesson: Protect your focus! 🧠✍️

#Equity in design means creating products that work for everyone, regardless of ethnicity, gender, or ability. 🌍

It’s about equity—providing tools for an equal experience.

Think dark mode or gender-neutral pronouns.

Design with care. Be kind to everyone. ❤️

We’re being manipulated at every turn, and the best we can do for now is to spread awareness about it.

I agree, I haven’t looked at everything yet, but I completely get your point. That’s exactly what I’m trying to say too. Some games include gambling mechanics, and both kids and adults end up spending a lot on them. The bigger issue is there are no proper regulations for these things.

Why are #MMOs so addictive? 🎮

B.F. Skinner’s Contingent Conditioning explains it—random rewards (like loot) keep us #hooked, just like his famous experiments with rats. 🐀🎲

But here’s the question ❓

Is it ethical to use psychology to fuel gaming addiction? 🤔

Though I’ve been applying Don Norman’s principles in #UIUX design for a while, I never got around to reading his book, The Design of Everyday Things.

Now, as I explore new opportunities, I’ve found time to dive into this fascinating read and keep growing!

Facebook has a top design team, so I’m sure they’ll address this eventually. But here’s a little tip for other designers: even big guys can miss UX principles. Mistakes like these are learning moments! ✨

So cheer up and keep designing!

Just remember that you are awesome!

How can this be fixed? It’s simple: Facebook should just bring vertical scrolling to Reels on the web. That one small tweak could make a huge difference for desktop users like me who love short videos. #UI #DesignThinking

What makes this even weirder is that Instagram (also owned by Meta) sticks to vertical scrolling on the web. So, Facebook Reels breaking this pattern feels inconsistent — and, honestly, unnecessary. 🤷‍♂️

Jakob’s Law | Laws of UX Users spend most of their time on other sites. This means that users prefer your site to work the same way as all the other sites they already know.

Why is this an issue? Jakob’s Law says users prefer familiar experiences. We expect to scroll down for the next video — even on desktop. Facebook’s horizontal navigation? It throws us off, making the experience feel awkward. 😕 #UXDesign

Short-video platforms like TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Instagram Reels are built for mobile users. On phones, scrolling vertically feels natural. So, most web versions just copy that experience. But Facebook? They decided to go horizontal. 🤔

Have you noticed how weird Facebook Reels feels on the web? 🧐
Unlike other platforms where you scroll down to the next video, Facebook Reels makes you scroll sideways. Let’s break down why this design choice is a bit of a head-scratcher for UX. 👇 #UX #ProductDesign
