I agree, I haven’t looked at everything yet, but I completely get your point. That’s exactly what I’m trying to say too. Some games include gambling mechanics, and both kids and adults end up spending a lot on them. The bigger issue is there are no proper regulations for these things.

Facebook has a top design team, so I’m sure they’ll address this eventually. But here’s a little tip for other designers: even big guys can miss UX principles. Mistakes like these are learning moments! ✨

What makes this even weirder is that Instagram (also owned by Meta) sticks to vertical scrolling on the web. So, Facebook Reels breaking this pattern feels inconsistent — and, honestly, unnecessary. 🤷‍♂️

Jakob’s Law | Laws of UX Users spend most of their time on other sites. This means that users prefer your site to work the same way as all the other sites they already know.
