My Irish friends seem very conflicted at wanting England to win.
🚨 BREAKING: Hip and knee ops across England will be rationed by the NHS as a major supplier of cement used in orthopaedic surgery has suffered an outage that could last months. To protect emergency trauma patients hospitals will be told to prioritise patients by NHSE today:
Another #NAP8 milestone: we have received over 8500 individual baseline surveys and 250 departmental surveys. Encourage all your colleagues to take part and contribute to #NAP8!
I remember being so happy upgrading from my 110 to aps camera on my 16th birthday. By 18 I had an early digital camera and the aps went into a cupboard. Where it may remain, or not.
Having followed the Grenfell inquiry, Post Office Horizon inquiry and the Glasgow hospital inquiry one question remains : why do people think their cover up will be successful?
In all these caees the initial mistakes were variously callous, accidental or a mix but the cover ups were malicious.
One of those days where everything seemed to be piling in. As ever good friends and colleagues helped - largely by reducing my worry about the things I cannot influence.
Autumn is here.
Sorry to hear that. Hope you and family and friends can enjoy the memories of the good times and they console you at this time.
The estimate for new tyres was less than I expected.........

She (and her Consultant daughter) were highly critical at a meeting last year of Scotland for ditching it completely but then said its of no clinical benefit. So I really don't see her arguement. It's not a big factor but surely we seek all marginal benefits?
Just because something only has a small effect in the worldwide scheme of things doesn't mean it's not a change we can make if there's no clinical benefit though.
Molecular pathology?
That's a price destined to produce pocket shrapnel.
£1 a pint was standard in my first year with happy hour 2 for 1.
In my new found status I however paid £6 for a pint in Dundee on Monday.
£1.50. You were ripped off.
Ouch
Mornings when you regret coming into work in shorts and a t shirt the night before
Did you know that mechanical thrombectomy for stroke is 7 times more effective than thrombolysis for MI? It saves lives, reduces disability. Much of the UK still doesn’t have 24hrs access to thrombectomy and only 4% of stroke patients get one. #anaesthesia2025
When does a new job become official - when you get a verbal assurance, when people in corridor congratulate you, when you get the official email?
It's a lovely day to open a new campsite
Sadiq Khan / TfL gave the go ahead for a road tunnel without building an equivalent fixed cycle bridge/tunnel in east london … so critical mass took things into their own hands and turned the Silvertown tunnel into a cycle route.
If you were in there does that make you also a stinky bifter?
D&G finally going Tory free. And DCT to SNP. Feels unlikely at present. But we are still 3-4 years out from election
Oh wow. I can see why that gums up the system. We have a few to report to PF then just 10% get a phone review by ME. Only 1-2% get formal review.
Maybe not tge best time for me to mention my 2h nightshift nap
So every case gets reviewed by either an ME or a coroner?
Coming to end of FY and interested in ICM or didn't get an ACCS job? CDF in Intensive Care at NHS Dumfries and Galloway. Inc 8h development time per week.
