It’s now past midnight in Gros Morne, Newfoundland. Welcome and happy Earth Day to listeners on the Voice of Bonne Bay 95.9 and 98.1 FM!
I remember when that Death album was rediscovered years back. It’s SO GOOD.
I have uploaded another game jam thing. Obscure Sins: D100 things that make the gods in your fantasy setting irrationally angry.

no nose, eyes, ears, or mouth; no face; he has none
There are places where it doesn’t, but the bleakness of it is what gets me, and the internalizing of such an alien view of the world. Sort of like Mark Doten’s work.
Maybe? I’ve heard more about BTF than all his others combined. If you like Those Across the River you may enjoy The Devourers, by Indra Das. Different focus, but a similarly great reimagining of that particular monster story.
Between Two Fires, the obvious one, but Those Across the River is a very close second.
This is supposed to be free. Skip the suggested payment thing.
I’ve enjoyed all his books I’ve read, but his horror work is something else. Just a cut above.

I feel like it’s important to note that the financial problems are the result of structural changes made by Harper that could have been reversed, and that there were and are options available. They don’t fix because they don’t want to, not because it can’t be done.

How much revenue did your fire service make last year? The military? How much money did your legislature make last year?
Why is the postal service the only governmental agency that's expected to be profitable? In the US or Canada?

The postmortem of the *last* big outage shows that it was because they DOS'd themselves through vibecoded slop.
If a Canadian restaurant has liver & onions on the menu you can rest assured they have not served a fresh vegetable since the invention of canning.
I found this place by literally googling "old people restaurants in Hamilton.”
I am with my 84-year-old dad, so it’s a necessity.
I found the old man diner in Hamilton and it’s packed.
Utagawa Hiroshige. Naruto Whirlpool, Awa Province. Japan, 1853.
A flatscreen display on a "smart" water fountain, demanding to be reconnected to the internet.
In 1999, I was playing a decker in Shadowrun, and tried to distract a guard by hacking a water fountain to overflow, and my GM said "why would a water fountain be on the network? That's fucking stupid. No you can't try."
Well it's 2026 and I just want you to know, Phil, that I FUCKING CALLED IT!
This is the cyberpunk I wanted, in a weird asymmetric warfare way.
This video of a Ukrainian Yak-52 crew taking down drones with a shotgun is incredible, but the music is deeply, and profoundly inappropriate. There was really only one option. So I've fixed it.
