Too right brother

The significant year on year fall on boat arrivals is broadly unreported by BBC or other media. It has less to do with imminent government changes currently going through than a fall in "push factors" that is Europe-wide

Brexit is just so unforgivably tedious. This boring, boring shit is the end result of turning prejudice into policy… impractical, costly, tiresome, stupid failure.

You know what's really embarrassing about this conflict? Iran has a 90 percent literacy rate while 50 per cent of the US reads at the 6th grade level or below. Iran sent Phds to the ceasefire talks. The US sent realtors.

The result is huge. Vast in its consequences. Orban was the inspiration to all those who came after him. He served as Putin's puppet, undermining Europe from within and Ukraine from without. He funded a vast network of fascists around the world. It's all vulnerable now, or falling apart entirely.

Peter Magyar’s party has soundly defeated Viktor Orban in today’s election. Congrats to the Hungarian people for vanquishing a corrupt Putin puppet, and rejecting Trump, Vance and Rubio’s desperate and foolish attempt to tamper in your democracy.

The Dow-Jones futures are up because Trump is promising a cease-fire. Don't investors ever learn? If his lips are moving, he's lying.

Always helpful.

Can you imagine any other govt policy being allowed to do such barrelling damage to our economy and national standing... and politicians and media just shrugging and saying,
"Oh well. Better not upset the rightwing nutbags”
Brexit is like being pushed over and being too scared to ever get up again.

British voters can show that they're finally united in facing up to the madness of Brexit by telling Farage to fxxk off in the May elections.
RW, non dom billionaire owners of MSM can't hide from the truth forever. It has taken ten years of anxiety and hardship, but most people see beyond the lies

Nigel Farage is painfully out of his depth
Iran shows again he is not fit to be prime minister

“The Trump horror show in America gives a glimpse into how Farage would govern and approach the world…

Farage poses as a patriot, yet the first duty of any political leader is to protect national interests. Iran shows again he is not fit to be prime minister.”

Thank God Starmer is in charge, really. If it had been any of his immediate predecessors, we'd currently be at war with Iran, playing lapdog to a deranged US administration, unable to say what we were doing or why.

Reform’s Richard Tice avoided nearly £600,000 in tax The deputy leader’s property company paid nothing in corporation tax on multimillion-pound profits for most of 2018-21

Richard Tice:
- engaged in highly aggressive tax avoidance to avoid nearly £600,000 of tax
- did so at a time when the taxpayer was already paying his salary as an MEP
Nothing patriotic about this party of grifters

Let’s hope (and do everything we can to make sure) that Reform never gets the chance to do any of the ruinous nonsense it relentlessly threatens us with. It’s become a national duty really to stop them.

Telling how confident Starmer now feels in owning his Iran decision. His best outing against Badenoch at PMQs in months. KB not alone in shifting her position. Many of those in the press and politics demanding war and condemning Starmer loudest have been far quieter since the inevitable chaos began.

Farage is pitiful.

“I never said that”
“A tax cut can be not putting taxes up”
“I didn’t put it on the leaflets”

Oh ffs. You said it. You didn’t do it. And now you’re lying and blaming someone else. Same as you always do.

If only our media were significantly better at pointing that out.

I am seeing almost universal support across social media platforms for Starmer’s position on Iran. Badenoch had a real chance here to distance the Tories from both Reform and a very unpopular US President and she’s blown it.

If Starmer ignored the law, right wing crowd would be baying he’s a warmonger. If he meekly followed Trump into a war which turned out badly, they’d be decrying him as another Blairite poodle of the US. They’ll never give him a fair shake, and in this case, he’s absolutely right to be cautious.

Lib Dem Leader Ed Davey:

"Tax exiles like Isabel Oakeshott and washed up old footballers who mock ordinary people who stay in the UK and pay our taxes... As we protect them, it's only right for tax exiles to start paying taxes to fund our armed forces, just like the rest of us".

As journalists working today many of us are taught to recognise disinformation when we see it and fight back against it.

Unfortunately there are some who willingly seek it out and put it on their front pages. A disgrace to the profession.

The number of fatalities in the US/Israeli attack on the girls elementary school has risen to 24. According to Al Jazeera, all are students.

War crime. While America & Congress sleeps.

I try not to get too conspiratorial in my thinking, but it is getting a bit coincidental how every time the Epstein scandal closes in on Trump, the US launches a major military operation in another country

Watch: 'Working hard used to get you something', says victorious Green Party candidate In her acceptance speech, Hannah Spencer said she was “no different from every single person in this constituency”.

I have a feeling that the voters of Gorton and Denton may just have got themselves a first class MP!
Congratulations Hannah Spencer, and to @greenparty.org.uk and @zackpolanski.bsky.social on gaining another Green member of parliament - hopefully the first of many more!
