I apologize sir, the battalion can’t raid that base because a good third of them are puking their brains out.

What actually is true is that men in many, many, many, many, many, many, many, societies are punished and humiliated for gushing over cute kids or showing affection either by being coded as gay, a sexual predator, or both. It's bad! Don't do that. That means you too.
If you've built a personality around gleefully "offending liberals," here's what you need to know: we aren't offended. You haven't hurt our feelings or made us cry. You sound like children to us, and we're sick of responding over and over to your infuriatingly stupid talking points, but we keep doing it because people's lives might literally be at stake if the wrong kind of idiocy is allowed to spread too far. You're not erudite debaters "owning the libs." You're the rotten annoying little kids kicking the backs of our seats while we're trying to keep the car on the road.
This. And this isn't just about MAGA. The "far Left" are every bit as bad at this, hating on Liberals (baselessly, irrationally, hypocritically) as their entire personality. Just pathetic children either way. Both always trying to play the victim too.
Me responding to redlines:
The snowflakes have no right being this fat in April.
I’m sorry that’s a lot.
It's essential, but also a fitting punishment for someone who spent so much time and energy protecting the statues and memorials of the white supremacist traitors who came before him in the Confederacy.
It really is insane how deep insurance is running our world. Politicians can deny climate change all they want but insurance doesn’t care how much you believe in floods and forest fire as long as you pay your inflated fees.
"However, there is a risk that a wide variety of digital religions will fill the internet like a giant ‘religious market’ [...] These are religious offerings without real ties or community belonging, closer to the emotional tastes of individuals than to a shared experience."
This is a really good column and really good advice for people entering the job market
Finding a Boomer who will admit they opposed civil rights is like finding a Republican who will admit to supporting the Iraq War. Statistically speaking, many are lying about it.
She’s a gem and I wish I lived close enough to try her stuff.
I’M JUDY I HAVE THE BEST PANCAKE. COME FOR BREAKFAST, STAY FOR DINNER.
some things about becoming a parent are radicalizing in ways I expected - e.g being reminded viscerally how screwed we'd all be if childcare and other care work disappeared. but other things are radicalizing in ways I didn't - like experiencing constant spontaneous solidarity in ways big and small
Compared to water? No.
Compared to high octane beer? Yes.
The calories come from sugar and alcohol. Fermenting out the sugar and removing alcohol leaves you in the 10-75 calories per serving range.

If that’s the case the consequences weren’t harsh enough.
It shocks me how many businesses still don’t seem to get that Trump’s cultural revolution did not actually happen
Morally speaking, doing the right thing because it’s right is superior to wanting the reward. Ethically speaking, I don’t care what their reasons are.
Having a dog is like having a dumb goofy toddler that wants to get caught.
Exactly one year ago today:
i can't help but think about 10 or 11 years ago when conservatives insisted that obama was uniquely anti-catholic because his administration thought that catholic-led orgs could just fill out a form if they didn't want to cover contraceptives in their health plans for employees.
Corporations are legally people and should be the only entities subject to the death penalty.
Christianity is hard.
That’s why most Christians haven’t really tried it.
“What if I do Christianity but only my base impulses, no self-reflection or selfless service of others. Focused on me, you feel me?“
I don’t know how convert a hard A into text.
How dare you insinuate that we are the hard to understand people?
