I've been thinking about doing it for literal years, but I finally took action: I disabled sound notifications on my email! I'll still have those little red dots letting me know there's a new email, but no more intrusive pings that steal my concentration!

I should probably disable the red dots too.

a senior golden retriever sits in the grass in front of a gray stone wall and faces the camera head-on. he has at least four tennis balls in his mouth – two stacked vertically under his nose, and one pressing up his cheek flaps on either side. the balls are faded shades of orange and green, now weathered and well-loved, like the sugary white of the dog’s face.

This is Finley. He is the Guinness Book of World Records champ for most tennis balls held by a dog in their mouth with 6 at once. Earned the title six years ago and has remained undefeated. He may be a senior, but he definitely knows ball. 14/10 #SeniorPupSaturday (IG: finnyboymolloy)

Huh, somehow I didn’t realize that I am one summer roadtrip and one Delaware away from visiting all US states. Apparently I’m not drawn to the plains states or the Rockies…

This is worth fighting for folks. 1000 years ago, in New Mexico, this group of Americans (!) were building 4-5 story structures aligned with seasonal star signs and with “highways” for trade stretching into the distance. Honor their history.

Fiscal Year 2027 Budget Request to Congress

I am shocked to see this language from the NSF.

“The U.S. National Science Foundation's Fiscal Year 2027 Budget Request reflects a strategic alignment of resources in a constrained fiscal environment while eliminating woke and weaponized grant programs that previously funded radical DEI projects.”

WHY are they thriving in the mess of construction that is the current state of the LSU lakes? Their population has boomed incredibly here in the last few years.

The couple next to me at the airport bar-restaurant asked for a to-go cup for the wine they didn’t quite finish— that’s how I knew, for sure, that am I headed back home to Louisiana 😅.

(Unfortunately, ATL is not in the business of handing out to-go cups.)
