Nice! You'll have a wonderful time. I stayed at a fancy ryokan in Atami, and it was the highlight of my trip. I want to hear all about it when you get back.

Just got back! Thrifted 3 coats, a totally normal amount. Where are you going? Any shows or events while you’re there? 👀
Learned that Milla Jovovich has a GitHub account and released the highest-scoring AI memory system ever.
Now learning that the scores were faked, searches for it are filled with malware, and it was "created with" the Libre Labs CEO.
Hey, I know he was asked like 8 followup questions tied to accountability and sharing false information, but does anyone know if he called councilman Orr at any point?
It's cool that the America is going to measure the sentiment around its president on Polymarket now.

Found something Vancouverites all agree on: this budget sucks.
> A record-breaking 630+ people spoke at City Council on the motion; less than 5 were in favour
> The city received 16 letters in support, and 1244 in opposition
> 400 city jobs are expected to be cut
An icon similar to Star Trek's starfleet insignia is apparent on an app screen. The next image is an actual Starfleet Insignia graphic. The final image is a Oujia board with its planchette. All three images feature a teardrop shaped pointer with a center "hole". It's weird when you think about it!

Just learned that our app has had a Starfleet insignia in it since 2018.
Which made me realize that the Starfleet insignia and a Oujia board's planchette are identical.
And both are used as interdimensional communications devices.
I always sang Outkast's "Roses" for diaper changing, but I also babysat a child named Caroline, so.
You're doing the lord's work here, Will.
AJ! I was trying to re-find this form when I noticed some issues that a talented editor looking for work may want to be aware of:
A friendly heads up that your .com URL isn't working (ajfillari.com) and your .online site (ajfillari.online) has Lorem Ipsum on your about page.
All the best!
Earlier this week, I posted about the second anniversary of a fire in the Mount Pleasant neighbourhood & the rather twisted circumstances surrounding it. I've drawn a follow-up story you can read on my site as well: www.jameslloydillustration.ca/blog/414-e10...
Thought I was going to be working with a pilot named "Dawn Hurdler" today.
Unbelievably disappointed to learn his name is actually John.

My side projects have been falling apart since taking the full-time job.
It turns out the whole company updates their contact photos on an annual basis. According to the woman in my email who's dressed up like a Victorian band leader, this year's theme is steampunk.

Sam Altman reflects on how ripping off Studio Ghibli's aesthetic is giving OpenAI a viral moment after he claims he started the company to "cure cancer or whatever."

Studio Ghibli already showed us what we look like as Studio Ghibli characters.

Lost Kingdoms II is the real rare mention! The only other pod I know of to acknowledge this era of FromSoft was @intothecast.bsky.social, but I can't remember the context for the life of me.
Frustrated to announce that the most professional and responsive person in my inbox has an email signature that features a tiny portrait of themselves in an extremely ornate top hat. (The photo is followed by their VP job title and nine lines of contact information.)
I'd love to hear the rationale on this AI image you're using to promote this story.
A synthetic image for a real news story says "fake Facebook content," not "quality journalism tied to the public interest." Especially when it's a picture of garbage atop more garbage. It's not even a metaphor now.
Thinking about how, in 2019, I was working with a Dogecoin dev when a certain billionaire DM'd the team to collaborate, and I recommended giving him a superficial title like "President of Doge" for the day since it seemed like the most harmless thing to do with his interest.

What, exactly, were you doing when you took this screenshot, Marie? 👀
"Rowdy" Roddy Piper sharing his gum-chewing and ass-kicking agenda, which I've repurposed for a cute little joke that plays with the semantics of the popular quote this image is from. Isn't that funny?
I'm here to make friends and chew bubblegum.
And I brought enough gum for everyone!
