A rad skidding across the floor, holding up a gun (that shoots foam) off to the side, he's wearings a pair of baggy shorts, new rocks, leg warmers, tall socks, and a jacket he's strapped on a harness. The inside of the jacket glows with a red and yellow floral pattern. He's wearing a lot of metal accesories, an earring on his left ear, bracelets, and a dogtag.

A photograph of the 'FutureHouse' in an exhibition magazine, showing an illustration of a raised up house with a slanted roof, covered in greenery. The text beneath covers the design philosophy of the house.
Here's another house from the 1994 FutureWorld exhibition for #MKMonday! This one is the aptly named 'FutureHouse', which is the 'house of the future'.
This is great a really helpful βknow your enemyβ list.
Music at a wedding
Another mixed media painting of musicians. This one depicts an Irish music session at a wedding in Anstey Hall near Cambridge. The bride who is a flute and whistle player is in yellow (though in fact it was more off-white). I gave the painting to the bride and groom.
#pleinairpril day 12! Beach vibes from Toronto's east end - when I first moved out this way I realized I had no idea we had kilometers of beautiful swimmable beaches here, but we do! and they're great! and you should visit them this summer.

Really good video on the packaging of trauma narrative as inoffensive content, but also good about the satanic panic. Also, i'm not surprised Sarah didn't bring it up as it wasn't relevant but the same repressed memory nonsense discussed here also underpins the entire alien abduction phenomenon.

GOOD NEWS! Researchers at Stanford University have developed a UNIVERSAL vaccine known as GLA-3M-052-LS+OVA, that protects against a wide range of respiratory viruses, bacteria AND even allergens. The vaccine is delivered intranasally AND provides broad protection in the lungs for several MONTHS.
This infuriating attitude shows up on the bookshelves in learning environments, too. We expect girls to empathize with boys, but we kneecap every opportunity to let boys empathize with girls. And look where we are.
Comic. [Gravestone for Joseph Paul Overton with list of years underneath. 1960-2003 is in black at the top and crossed out in red. Underneath in red is 1965-2011, crossed out, then 1973-2018, crossed out, then 1982-]

Watercolour illustrations from Mary Gartsideβs An Essay on a New Theory of Colours (1808). Hand-made and unique to each volume, the images have been deemed some of the earlier examples of abstraction in painting. More in the post on the site β publicdomainreview.org/collection/g...
Portrait titled "Painted in a Welsh Village", 1933, oil paint on canvas. Executed by Albert Houthuesen, 1903-1979. A painting of a young Welshman, Henry Jones, in a green-grey three piece coat, with a striped yellow-blue tie in darker colours. He is wearing a peaked hat. The background is a darker yellow with noticeable brushtrokes giving it texture. Henry has his hands in his lap and is regarding the viewer with a somewhat cautious look - his eyes are blue and he looks directly at you and the painter.
Whitney Chewston, a white dachshund, judgementally regards the camera. The words, superimposed on the image in Impact font, reads "do you suffer from same sex attraction"
Was at the Tate Britain today and saw this lovely portrait but all I could think of was how much he looked like Whitney Chewston
*sigh*
If your Kickstarter video/image is AI, I won't back it.
If your book has an AI cover, I won't read it.
If you're a public supporter of AI use for creative work, I will unfollow you.
I cannot stress enough how offensive I find AI use in the arts. It is outright theft, it is lazy, it is gross.

I'm doing 30 days of characters time at ComicFury - a very big crop of artists this year (80!) and all managed by @spelledeg.bsky.social! There's lore, but alas there's no space here for that.

digital illustration of Huayra, a young Peruvian women with very long braids and an ornate mask in front of her face. The mask is round and golden with snakes slithering over it, big eyes and a mouth with tusks that is sticking out its tongue. On top of it is a little guy. The shape is very reminiscent of a stylised sun. The imageβs color palette is limited to gold, cyan and red, like the mask, as well as the off white paper texture of the background. In the right bottom corner is a photo of the actual, real mask from sometime between 300 BC and 1 AD. On the left there is a full body illustration of Huayra dancing, face hidden by the mask, braids whirling around her. She is wearing traditional Andean clothing: multicolored layered polleras, a jobona and lliclla, all heavily embroidered. She is barefoot. She is swinging her skirts in a way yo show off the layers. To the right is a closeup of Huayra lifting the mask off her face, so half of it is visible. She is grinning mischievously and sticking out her tongue. Her braids are flying behind her as if sheβs running past the viewer. The little guy on top of the mask is winking.
Today's #30DaysofCharacters girl is Huayra, who somehow ended up bonded with an ancient mask's spirit and gained some wind powers from it. She uses them to return other Andean artefacts back home and to cause mischief. Lots of mischief πͺοΈ

Legitimately, just do random sketches, write your heart out, make music to describe your character of the day for 30 days
This is a chance for you to just do random shit and have fun not to ask "Computer draw for me"
