Catching up on some posts!
A few weeks ago, @dazeydukes.bsky.social was gracious enough to chat about the Early 2010s Nostalgia Cube. Lots to unpack in this nostalgia cube about thoughtful restrictions, emotional resonance, and building time capsules in #mtgcube.

Good luck! Y'all let me know how I can help!
I got inspired by my chat with @domrikade.bsky.social on Recross the Paths and decided to record a little video of my update to The Archive for ECL.

It's a little odd juggling the tools I use to make cube updates while recording.
I'm new to this... be gentle.

This week, @aquaone.bsky.social gives us a tour of aquaone powered, a heavily-customized powered cube. We chat about art and alters, creating novel experiences, and not-quite-power-maxing. Be sure to check out the visual spoiler of the cube! Thanks for inspiring the community, aqua.
This week, @natelikesfrogs.bsky.social and I discuss his Glory Tag Tournament XIV, a nostalgia #mtgcube. We had a great conversation about storytelling, community, frogs, and much more. Thanks, Nate!

Love it. Incinerate with overload is certainly a war crime. How do you make your stickers available to drafters?
A fun project idea to explore for sure! One more cube callout for you, @manaflare-mtg.bsky.social has put together a project with at least three cards from each standard-legal release. It's an awesome cube that navigates the puzzle in a thoughtful way.

Only the best kinds ❤️🔥
On this week's #mtgcube conversation on Recross the Paths, I get to sit down with @bsweitz123.bsky.social and chat about Mono-Red! Lots of great insight from Ben's role as a game designer at Wizards of the Coast.

It was a treat to chat with you! Your project is awesome and I'm stoked that we get to share it like this. Lots more to unpack, for sure :)
If you ask me, it was a slam dunk pick! A hearty congratulations to you, my friend.
Ankh of Mishra for me - looks super punishing and eminently castable! Basics always appealing in environments like this though.
What a fun and fascinating project! Your initial takeaways are spot on to many folks' initial forays into custom Magic design too. Lots of lessons to learn along the way, especially for subsequent passes. All the best to you and the students - excited to see where it lands!
It's a treat to have you in the #mtgcube community, my friend!
Awesome, that's so exciting! Welcome to the chaos :)
Like Bones said, would love to see what y'all come up with!
The real gem was the people. So many wonderful friends to share the experience with, from five-mile walks, to impromptu 5-Alives, to SWU, to Heroscape, to way more bagels than I expected. I'm grateful for the trip and the memories and I look forward to seeing more of you fine folks in the future.
Somehow my record earned a spot in the STACKED top 8. We drafted @scottmirts.upkeepnewyork.com's Mirts Cube, a sweet legeacy environment with a wealth of fixing and tough decisions. W was open and Young Pyromancer again guided me toward tempo. Lost in the semis to Dom for 4th place finish! (1-1)
Day 2 was Maggie's Twilight Cube. My only 3-0 for the weekend, this is a charming environment that aims to capture the vibes of the 2009 Twilight: New Moon soundtrack. Primeval Titan, Inferno Titan, Thundermaw Hellkite - what's not to love? Some incredibly tight matches in this one! (3-0 Record)
The second draft of day 1 was @improphilo.bsky.social's UMA+ cube that I got to draft on stream! I tried to eat my vegetables and stay open but the big G and B beats called out to me. Summon: Titan was an all-star and guided most of my wins in this sweet graveyard-centric environment. (2-1 Record)
A few quick main event draft reports:
My first cube was Alex's Middle School and I drafted Grixis, based around Young Pyromancer. Featuring familiar cards and fun lines, this cube was a blast - I had one of the most intricate matches of the weekend with Sophie in this one. (2-1 Record)
Reminiscing on a great weekend at Cube for a Cause in Brooklyn. In a season where I don't get to travel much, this was a delightful reunion with a bunch of friends, many of whom I got to meet in person for the first time. It was a joy to go with the incomparable @goblingathering.bsky.social too!
This was an amazing event and everyone I got to interact with was stellar. I'm shocked that I got to stand up there with all these great players!
Sorry I'm so slow! I also learned through experience that you should NOT use fire to seal the knot on this kind of string.
Y'all were a treat! It was a blast to spend the time - love the project and I'm stoked that it's getting more play here in the fall at CubeCon.
Truly a special gathering! My decklists on the day for posterity, Jazz Waltz and Counters of Monte Cristo respectively.
It's all the better because you're part of it, my friend.
The pleasure was mine - you are a delight and I'm glad we got to pollute the airwaves together!
I got to have a great conversation with Daniel about this project too (almost a year ago now)!

Threefold Thunderhulk occupies a sweet place in my memory. I was helping run our LCI prerelease and a player had the bye, not feeling the best about their deck. I had a deck put together so I offered to play them. They SMOKED me with Thunderhulk twice which I think made both of our nights better.
