A couple weeks ago, I setup Home Assistant again, put a smart plug on our water heater, and configured a notification to alert when it goes offline because the GFCI outlet it’s plugged into trips a little too often.

It paid off today!

There’s some modern BBS software that looks kind of interesting, like nuskooler.github.io/enigma-bbs/. I’ve thought about trying to write something BBS-like with the Charm stuff (charm.land) in Go, but it’s so hard to want to do computer stuff after work.
