And I mentioned I’m a Yellow Dog Democrat. And, just in case anyone wants to know what that means, it means I would vote for a yellow dog before I would vote for a MAGA. Originally it was Republican but there are still a few good ones left. I think.

I realized it’s been a month since I posted. We’ve been packing, unpacking, driving, blah blah blah. So I updated my profile to include Eugene and not Texas.
Hurray for us old hippies!
I salute everyone who marched yesterday, the last day of my drive from Houston to Eugene. Picture of my mom, the original Green Bean Lady in political ads for Chet Edwards in Texas. I come from good stock. #eugene #goodtrouble
I’m following you because you marched in Eugene. I just moved here - literally drove in yesterday afternoon, the fourth day of driving to get away from Texas.
Beautiful Snow Moon tonight just after sunset from Skinner Butte.
So do you!
Thank you!
Welcome to happiness!
This is what 74 looks like (along with a very sweet husband!)!
Haha! Short!
Joey Barnes here!
Put a note in FB of your handle.
Hurray! And use the #blazingshuttles hashtag. People will find you!
I just watched a YouTube. Showing how this works. I love the knife!
Gotta start a list for #blazingshuttles. If you are a #weaver who is #weaving with warps from Kathrin Weber, please make a post and use the #blazingshuttles hashtag. I’m trying to show her how this works!
Written in 1995, 30 years ago. And here we are in 2025.
Oh Momma. You were so right. They continue to hurt us all…
Oh, Mama, you were so mistaken… They harmed us all. They are not gone. They harm us still.”
“Seventy-five years have passed. Look at the headlines. Look at the charred ruins of churches. See the graffiti, letters twisted like the minds that scrawled them there upon the walls. Smell the charred wood of crosses burned in front yards.
“They’re gone now.” We walk back to the car, my father lifts me into the front seat, and we drive home to our safe bungalow.
It’s a one-page powerful essay. Here’s the end…
“A small child’s cry breaks the hush. “Shhhh,” my mother says, as I moan into her skirt and hide my eyes. “They’ll never harm you.”
“She takes my little hand, and Daddy smoothes my straight blond bangs from my eyes.
In 1995 my mom wrote an essay about the KKK marching in Waco Tx when she was a little girl. She wrote the essay when she was 78 years old. I wove the story into a wall hanging after the murder of George Floyd.
At one point in my career I sold intraocular lenses!
Love finding my tribe. And my tribe finding me.

Great to see you here! We left Kwood and are now in Eugene OR!
Hello fellow weaver.
Subscribe to Jane Stafford’s online school. It’s a bargain and you will learn a whole lot! You don’t have to buy her kits - and if you are close to a guild, join it. But you still need a loom!
