I grew up in Aus and id say this is more about Aus culture than gen z. For instance, as the article notes, Aussies are the most traditional. And as far as gen y:
"65% of gen Z think “things are better if men do paid work and women do care work”, compared with 66% of millennials..."

I think I've come to the conclusion that Phil Spencer is basically Rogen's character in The Studio
If it's the channel I'm thinking of, I remember thinking.. wow how has this woman, who is a millennial, never heard the offspring?! But then it turned out she was a very talented opera singer and then it became a little more feasible? Anyway her vids are great
This is great, thanks for sharing!

One of those rare combat missions I get to enjoy guilt-free knowing there is most definitely a David and Goliath to this battle, there is one side fighting for their land and country, and there were no unnecessary casualties regardless
Literally every episode has or feels like one or a few continuous shots (with maybe a couple of clever tricks to hide cuts), and is shot on film. A perfect show about and for the love of filmmaking. Also one of the funniest

tldr: unfortified foods just don't contain requisite b12s, inc. tempeh. Nori good (& consume daily requirement from reasonable amount); no human trials.
I still take daily tablets to ensure I meet my recommended amount.
WTF computer should be modern tech failure images. Windows bluescreen on your gym treadmill, failed LLM generated description for a movie on Amazon.
Hm, but you are also competing against public transport and second hand market. Like at some point the trade off on buying new has to not be worth it? But considering many Americans take out 80k loans to buy a car they never should have already I guess yeah, don't see car culture changing.

These two presentations are packed with insight into how a GPU schedules and executes work and advice on how to improve perf which, although targeting GCN, is largely transferable to other architectures as well, recommended read: gpuopen.com/wp-content/u..., gpuopen.com/wp-content/u...

Wrote a frame render analysis article to go with it as well:

I was surprised to hear that many graphics people were surprised to learn that normals should be transformed with the adjugate transpose matrix. This is something I've written about extensively, so here's a new blog post that talks about what's going on.

It does feel a little bit more like Threads on here lately, which I guess is inevitable as some of those users move over here. But I also wonder if this the negative impact of me blindly following starter packs without really checking what kind of content people engage with
"Moving Frostbite to PBR" is 10 years old already but still an amazing physically based rendering and lighting resource, so much knowledge packed in there. seblagarde.wordpress.com/2015/07/14/s...
In our next Tiny Glade update we'll bump the light limit from 32 to 32k while keeping the cost more or less the same.
The small limit has been a cop out, as we didn't quite know how to render huge numbers of (screen-space) shadow-casting lights without severe performance degradation.
Interval training apps! On android, I use Complete Ear Trainer. I would recommend also associating a song with each interval (for instance, Jurassic Park/Star Wars for 5ths) because I tried without doing this and it's way easier when you have a song associated. You can find lists online.
And also note that BandCamp Friday is THIS Friday
Growing means admitting failures and reflecting but I haven't seen much of that from trump. Would be interested to know what reflections Bezos has heard in private (giving the benefit of a doubt here). Only regret I've heard is cabinet members, and with selections this time, doesn't show much growth
Recordings for Graphics Programming Conference 2024 are now up. The lineup is packed with amazing talks ranging from rendering for games like Tiny Glade, Hades, and Baldur’s Gate 3, to even a talk on designing your own GPU!

I often get asked about my book recommendations for graphics programming and game development. I updated my old list and made it easier to find on my website. With Black Friday/Cyber Monday, many are on sale right now (at least in Canada/US)
