Taking bromance to the next level ๐
And thank you GODS that they didn't have the two start a relationship before it was revealed cause that would be new levels of awful.
He's not at all wrong that her initial feelings for him wasn't for the real person. They need to unpack a lot before they can be sure it's the real thing.

constantly tease out near reveals, and they don't use it as a will-he-find-out cliffhanger.
When the reveal comes it's devastating for all the right reasons. But you also feel reassured by where they put it in the story.
There are enough episodes left for the drama to have them work things out.
His real identity completely ruined his excellent plans to become the FL's husband. What a disaster. ๐คฃ
In #Idoli, the drama keeps the reveal for exactly the right moment - after making us realise why Se-na's being La-ik's fan would be so devastating to him.
They don't (cont)
You know Idol I and #Glory have made me realise that I don't actually hate the hidden identity trope. I hate how most dramas use it.
In Glory, the ML genuinely forgot his identity. By the time he remembered, he was already in love, and hilariously his first reaction was: "Oh shit." ๐คฃ (cont)
Yes but again, this catering is in comparison to Covid years. We're still much higher when compared to 2019. The level of consumerism we were at was not sustainable. This is just not a real problem anywhere except in the hearts of CEOs performing for the stock market. ๐
Agreed. And infinite growth ain't happening. This is not a solvable problem so I'm ignoring it. Businesses making decisions to please shareholders is how we've reached this current dystopia. Sigh.
I feel like platforms are making such a huge deal about their growth rates declining. They keep using the Covid years as their base of comparison. Yes viewerships are down. But the fact that it's down everywhere means they're not special. pfft.
I barely use socials now. I'm still consuming media I'm just not on Instagram or Twitter or bluesky doing it. I visit these like once a week when it used to be daily once. Look at the growth of substack tho. The adoption has accelerated. It will stagnate after a few years tho. That's what happens.
So we're on the same page, you mean the reports about the slowdown of platform downloads, right? That slowdown is more about almost everyone who can use these apps already does. But companies get scared when they reach that ceiling. And novelty dies off.
That's exactly what they should be doing. Instead they're treating it like streaming originals but vertical. ๐ They really need to butt out and let the microdrama space evolve organically.
Aww man that is very sucky. Something similar happened to me half a year back. Had a great conversation and was following up on it when they deleted their account. Sigh.
Ooh ๐. See I think it's an interesting medium and I'm open to whatever happens in it. But my take is a teenie bit skeptical on the long term Hollywood front. I'm okay with being wrong though. Let me know your thoughts!
That's a good point. The low budget actually frees them up to try a lot of things.
Buddy, I won't fight you. The movie is clearly important to you. You can easily google "movies based on Yeonsangun" to see all the other stories fictionalized on him, painting him in many different ways. But if you don't want to, then that's fine. Enjoy the drama.
Are Yi Yung and Yi Heon similar names? Yi Yung was the personal name of the real king. Both the fictional and real kings were called Yeonsangun. Here's more on the real king. See if you can spot similarities: Yeonsangun of Joseon - Wikipedia share.google/gxZzGhf5CkzK...
Just wanted to note that there is some confusion about the writers claiming that the ML was completely fictional. He was a fictionalized version with a slightly different name. Like calling the great dictator Kitler. And then using the same major events as framework in their story. ๐
But that's okay! We can't all love every kind of drama!
I think a video is a proper success when half my viewers run off to watch the #kdrama 5 minutes into me talking excitedly about it. ๐คฃ
Here's my video on why you should ALSO be watching #SpiritFingers!

I was looking it up a while back for a re-watch and saw they took it down. I really didn't love YouTube's subs so I left it for later. Now I can watch it again! Woot!
I made it! ๐คฃ๐คฃ I think my fondness for KWB and Suzy got me through some really long rough patches. But also the show has so many foundational issues dropping it is probably the saner choice. Also I would say listen to the pod cause Anisa chips in and I go over the same pts from the video anyway. ๐
Oh yay! I loved that show! Thanks for the heads up.
Muahaha why does that sound so low ley evil. ๐คฃ I made a video AND a podcast ep on it. I'm tapped out. But it was a wild wild ride.
He also let the pervert off with a punch. Wth it wasn't his place to dole out forgiveness or punishment. What does he mean "I won't let you go next time?" What next time? Was he planning on stalking the perv now? This crosses so many lines I'm still grappling with it.
Yup. Succinctly telling us that both the pervert AND the SFL were wrong here, and the righteous SML has set them both straight.
I would like to see him pushing aside a male doctor with his butt crack accidentally exposed and snapping at him to cover up.
This scene in Would You Marry Me takes men's feminist solidarity back 10-20 years. Why is a random guy pushing aside a doctor MID CPR and telling her to cover up instead of publicly shaming the pervert filming her?
No beating him up in secret later does nothing.
Making people believe that their one vote is the only power they have is the biggest political scam. Your power is in dissent, agitation, vocal questioning, vigilance against corruption. There is no passive participation in a democracy.
Thank you for the boost. ๐ฅฒ
Yes the formula is the same, except that putting a serial killer in a sweet romance is a tonal shift that is often discordant and pisses viewers off. If you signed up to a thriller with a romance subplot that's a whole different matter.
