I'm sure Alito is fuming about the Virginia vote and itching to strike down the rest of the Voting Rights Act as petty revenge.

But Democrats are likely retaking the House, maybe the Senate, no matter what SCOTUS does now.

Killing the VRA would just be a final insult that speeds court reform.

Starting a mid-decade redistricting war only to end up with -1 seats is the same fine strategic genius and subtle grasp of game theory that brough us the Strait of Hormuz.

JUST IN: Democrats Earn Major Midterms Edge In Virginia Vote Democrats are chalking up a major victory in Virginia after a redistricting vote earned them the chance to flip four House seats currently held by Republicans.

I think mid-decade redistricting moves and gerrymandering in general are bad for our democracy, but the Dems didn't start this fight, so I guess I'm happy that the GOP may end up regretting all this. www.mediaite.com/media/news/j...

In February 1777, General George Washington ordered the first mass immunization campaign in American history by mandating that his troops be inoculated against smallpox. He protected the Continental Army from an epidemic that was deadlier than British forces.

249 years later, we have this idiot.

It’s finally happened. After 18 months. Finally, a media merger you can root for.

A clip from The New York Times reads: "But only the entities that officially paid the tariffs are eligible to recover that money. That means that the fuller universe of people affected by Mr. Trump’s policies — including millions of Americans who paid higher prices for the products they bought — are not able to apply for direct relief.

The extent to which consumers realize any gain hinges on whether businesses share the proceeds, something that few have publicly committed to do. Some have started to band together in class-action lawsuits in the hopes of receiving a payout."

The average American family paid $1,700 in tariffs last year, according to the bipartisan Congressional Joint Economic Committee. Few will ever see any of that money back. The refunds will go to companies, if doled out at all. What a joke.

CNN put together a montage of Trump saying as far back as March 9 that his war against Iran "is going to be finished pretty quickly," then him saying that same thing over and over for the past six weeks

‘It Could Happen’: Rumors Swirl of ‘October Surprise’ to Save Senate GOP Majority Rumors abound on Capitol Hill about a potential “October surprise” from the Supreme Court that has some Senate Republicans and their aides feeling hopeful

When a major political party is pinning its midterm hopes on a resignation from what's supposed to be a nonpartisan Supreme Court, it really underlines how none of this is working the way it should.

👇 In honor of my late aunt and my uncle, both of whom were librarians for decades. I'm a parent, so I understand concerns about young kids being exposed to content they're not ready for. But banning books is not the answer at all.

US strikes on alleged drug boats have killed more than 160 people With eyes on Middle East, military continues campaign of deadly strikes at sea.

The people being killed in Trump's boat strikes pose no military threat and are not at war with the U.S.

📣“They are not combatants. They are civilians suspected of committing crimes, and to kill them without any due process is an unlawful extrajudicial killing.”

I was on the hook to make our dinner tonight, so I turned off the #Mariners game with Seattle leading 6-2 so that I could focus on cooking (I'm slow and untalented at cooking).

And now, finally, I just saw the final score. 😡

The MLB-approved statement the teams’ broadcasters are reading about Jackie Robinson Day is an embarrassment. Jackie didn’t face “adversity” — he faced loud, violent, entrenched racism. He integrated baseball & saved it from collapsing in on itself. Say that.

Luke Raley has been awesome for the Mariners this season. His fourth homer was crushed (113.2 mph EV / 434 feet).

He's running a .316/.371/.614 slash line in 17 games.

Truly remarkable how many people have told the Pope, in some way or another, to "shut up and dribble." Or corrected him on the Bible, despite their thin education on theology. Or told him to stay out of US affairs, despite him being a US citizen. The hubris is amazing.
