I think people will jump into using it & then the limitations (and effects on the brain) will become apparent!

Van Gogh's art wouldn't be known if his sister-in-law hadn't worked hard to make a name for it. Even after death, your work has to be discovered by someone who is willing to work on its behalf!

By the time evening came, the boy had told the story to his friends, and other groups of willing listeners. It became a much-requested tale in the village. People debated the details of the story, while they sat in lighted rooms; but, stepping outside the circle of light, they felt the presence among the trees, just as the boy had described.
Being the author of the story, the boy did not demonstrate greater adherence to rules. Nor did he follow his mother's advice to curb his intake of spirits. But, he did think twice about walking alone in the woods, especially on the darkest winter nights.

"I have to go," you say, moving towards a dry spot on the pavement.
The man looks around quickly, lowering his voice.
"It's not safe to talk here," he says. "The others will be at the shop - waiting for you."
You step away, "How do I know your shop is safe?"
The man opens his vest, and pulls out a thick, black knife with a silver handle. "You have my word," he says, "and I will give you this, besides."

When her brother James returned to college.
Harriet mentioned that she would be unhappy after he left. James encouraged Harriet to pursue writing seriously, as a way to divert her thoughts.
For the first time, Harriet began to write with the intention of submitting her work for publication.
That same year, her first essays appeared in print (under the guise of writing as a man). She was not paid for this acceptance, but Harriet continued to write, submitting her work, persisting in spite of rejection, and celebrating small successes. Apart from her brother's encouragement, Harriet received almost no acknowledgement of her work at home, and she still wrote in the time she could spare from other duties, making sure she did not appear in public with a pen in hand.

I used to think there were some genres I'd never write, but I'm learning that genres can be quite broad, there are ways to stretch.

Plenty of people buy books from Amazon in spite of its issues. Make your decision based on what works for you.

I'm not good with it either! My impression is that the required ISBN codes are needed for printed books. For ebooks - if you go to the platform you want to use, it will hopefully give you directions about what that platform needs.

You might not need it for ebooks on other platforms (it might just be for printed books)

Do you need an ISBN for ebooks?

From a #poem this time -

"If you want to capture lightning, it makes sense to look for clouds.

Drizzly rain won’t help.

Locate yourself in a place with storms."

For me - it depends on how my body is doing with regulating temperature. At times, I can't get warm enough, even if I wear extra clothes. Right now, I feel pretty well, so I'm not cold at all, even though it's a cold weekend (we've just had a 40 degree drop, warm to below freezing).

Harriet, The Writer Biography (9 minute read)

If you're home this weekend, and would like something to read, this is the biography of an interesting woman, Harriet Martineau, one of the first popular, professional women writers. I hadn't heard about her until this week - and I should have! πŸ’™πŸ“š #writingcommunity

Flying close to the ships, the dragon realized many carried treasure, gold and silver, fine clothing, expensive drink. He had never before encountered pirates. The dragon listened to the pirates' talk on several successive nights.
It appeared that most of the pirates, unlike himself, had no home. He thought it strange that men possessing treasure should sail back and forth over the water, instead of seeking a refuge. The pirates' tales of theft and murder did not surprise him; but, he did not understand why they persisted in such activities, having ships filled with the makings of a golden hoard. Why would men collect gold and jewels, only to trade them away, and repeat the cycle?

The staff watched a film that showed bleeding in different locations, head, body, limbs, and how to address each. For injuries to the body, the film recommended sweeping the wound with your fingers, to check for bone or other sharp fragments, before applying pressure. About this time, I began to feel woozy, sitting on my stool in the cafeteria. My brain has a quirk, which makes me feel faint at the sight of blood. This film was having the same effect. So, I listened rather than watched the second half.
