There are lots of arguments for someone not going on Piker’s show but this isn’t one of them. He has an objectively huge reach; if you weren’t aware of that it says more about you than him

as someone who monitors right wing media, its under discussed right now but i can tell you conservatives are absolutely terrified of the way talarico is using religious messaging against them

Yes but isn’t it noble of IDF to accept the numbers.

2 weeks ago called Hudson County Clerk looking for data on returned runoff ballots. Their response was a vaguely accusatory “who are you???”
(Yes I know this info lives with BOE, I first wanted to know if clerk had mailed out ballots. So they just needed to transfer my call)

.@Pablo.show 45 minutes and I can’t find out the name of the guy who authored the piece you’re talking about? Please credit reporters for their hard work. #SayTheName @danielkolitz.bsky.social

I just tried canceling, conveniently the cancel button wasn’t working

And by the way, it’s been 16 months since @adamjentleson.bsky.social resigned from leading Fetterman’s office, about the same amount of time he spent there. Most of that time his boss was thanking Netanyahu for murdering Palestinians.

Glad to hear someone out there will be using polling to get at “agreed-upon truths about the world.” Will you be using polling to help Democrats understand electoral impacts of the genocide in Gaza?

Oil and gas accounts for a huge portion of New Mexico state revenue, which not many other states can replicate (or would want to)

Also no carbon pipelines!

Can we even call them campaigners? Most of these people hadn’t faced a competitive election in their lives until this year, and even then they were able to drown out their opposition by outspending them 10:1

PA and NY are way higher but it’s the right direction

I recently took the drastic step of silencing any incoming call from a contact not already in my phone. It’s just dozens every day.

Better to say “Jews can be safe in diaspora” than “Jews are safe in diaspora”

Hm, honestly I’ve mostly had Zionist reply guys responding to that post and was more oriented towards defending the general position than introspection of how the movement can improve. I agree we can/must both affirm safety for Jews and be opposed to Israel.

But fine I’ll bite. anti-Zionism is a variant of anti-nationalism, the idea that nationalism doesn’t solve anyone’s problems. Israel’s genocide doesn’t make diasporic Jews safer, it actually makes us less safe!

This is tangential to my original point, which was that mainstream anti-Zionism doesn’t imply the expulsion of Jews from Israel

A great example! Most Jews who used the word ‘goy’ in the past month were probably referring to a Christian friend. I understand its use in the context of Isaiah but it’s just not relevant.

It’s not a widely adopted terminology. Most contemporary anti-Zionist organizing uses rights-based anti-apartheid framework that implies that were Israel to grant equal rights to all individuals under its sovereignty, “Israel” as an ethno-state would no longer exist.

Yes, that doesn’t make Jews a modern day nationality!

I’m a diasporic Jew and feel very safe where I live thanks! Seems like you want me to leave though which is odd…

Yes Jews are not a nationality.

Israel’s actions have global ripple effects that create hate towards expat Israelis and yes sometimes straight up anti-semitism. We’re all living in that context, it’s everyday headlines of starvation and death. This is why Israel’s actions make Jews globally, including restaurant owners, less safe.

I honestly know nothing about Assyrians, but can’t see how you’d classify Druze as a nationality.

8 months ago 0 0 1 0

Yes that’s why nobody uses this terminology

History also doesn’t bear out the idea of mass retributional violence at the end of apartheid regimes, unless you believe Trump and Musk.

The more immediate point is that anti-Israel sentiment is right now is obviously largely a response to an actively unfolding genocide

8 months ago 1 0 2 0

Um, none of “Maronite,” “Druze,” or “Assyrian” is a nationality?

If Israel ceased to be a state, present-day Israelis would just be Jewish people living in a country without apartheid that doesn’t exist yet.
