We love this stupid car but can’t afford a 16K repair. Would be nothing for Subaru America to give a deeper discount and keep a loyal customer.

I know there are bigger problems in the world but so disappointed in Subaru. Dealership and service dept are wonderful. Known issue with CVT for 3.6R Outback requires $16K engine rebuild, car has ~80K miles. Subaru America only gave a $1500 discount. Never buying a Subaru again. Had Subaru for 23y 😡

🧵 After years out of the field, I and my lab are again working on bacterial type IV pili. We have just posted our first preprints, and I'm excited to share what we have discovered.

This shows Neisseria gonorrheae bacteria infecting a human epithelical cell. Here, you can see the pili in red.

A valentine from Public Health of Seattle and King County. A man shivers in bed while a smiling lady in a red mask shows off her bandage on her arm.

Text: Noses are red
Ice packs are blue
I'm vaxed so miss me with severe symptoms of flu.

May seem crazy but phage? I know there are cases of approval for phage treatment as last ditch treatment option.

Depending on your primer company IDT has prepaid oligo card. Other companies have similar. Depending on your institution policy might be an option. Worked when we switched financial systems and couldn’t order for like a month.

Also the fluorescent lightbulb in Biotek Synergy plate readers. Bulbs are not too expensive and super easy to replace! Saved a few $$$ on repairs by doing it myself!

Not to be confused with the GraphPad graphing program “Prism” which is likely already front and center for scientists to, you know, do science. Maybe they should have asked their own AI programs if the name Prism was already taken.

Am convinced if we just start talking about how Miller is the de facto President he will be out in no time. Nothing hurts more than a bruised ego

If you are a scientist funded by NIH and agree that if the HHS/NIH bill is held hostage by linkage for funding to DHS/ICE, we need to shutdown both and save lives, its time to speak up. Right now, with a few exceptions, the silence is deafening

A phage protein screen identifies triggers of the bacterial innate immune system - Nature Microbiology A library of 400 phage protein-coding genes is used to find a trove of antiphage systems, revealing systems that target tail fibre and major capsid proteins.

I’m thrilled to share our work on phage triggers of the bacterial immune system in its final form @natmicrobiol.nature.com www.nature.com/articles/s41...

RIL-seq boosts the study of sRNAs. Here comes its first application to intracellular bacteria. Plus, 10 years after its characterization, we now present an RNA sponge of Salmonella PinT.
