Jim was REI's first employee and would go to lead the company to great success!, and Lou founded a climbing guide company that still operates today out of Ashford, WA (My first Rainier climb was with that guide service!) - RMI Guides.

My heart goes out to their friends and families.

I named myself after Jim and Lou Whittaker, American climbing legends (and twins!) local to the Pacific Northwest... heros, among the mountaineering community who gave much of their life to education, philanthropy, and exploration.

Jim Whittaker passed today, at age 97, in Port Townsend, WA

Slightly at an angle, there's a wooden countertop cornered attached to two large wall windows. I wanna talk about my existential fears for humanity but I'm afraid it could destabilize my vibe so I'm going to stew on it quietly and wait for the inevitable to happen o_O

A beautiful round, pink and sparkly sticker rests on a windowsill in the sunlight. In the middle of the circle is a profile of a bearded sheep, wearing a crown that sparkles with oval jewels set in it, long flowing ombré pink curly hair, set against a fading pink background with pink clouds fading off into the distance. The image is framed but a black circle, sparkle circle, and one more black circle. The swirly Wonderland inspired font spells out “BeauPeep” to the bottom of the sheep profile, on the circle borders, done in sparkly red and bordered in light pink and then black. The sheep queen is beautiful, demure, strong, calm and soft. The border glitter shimmers in hexagonal rainbow shapes.
