Question: for hard mode, since Riker and O'Brien were both in TNG, couldn't you keep Dax and swap in Jet for O'Brien? Just thinking aloud. Uncertain about the nitty gritty details of the exercise.

of course, we all know that propaganda like that is just so corporate owned dems can pretend to have a justifiable reason to vote with the bloodthirsty repubs on going to war and killing people that have never harmed us

#ICYMI Happy summer solstice! 🌞

🌍 This year's solstice happened at exactly 04:42 CEST on 21 June, the moment the Sun reached its northernmost point in the sky.

Viewed from space, these images capture a full year of shifting light and shadow, from one June solstice to the next 🧪🔭

Today I am going to present my case as to why humanity needs to invest heavily in lab grown meat.
- meat protein is an excellent source of many of the things we need to survive
- the environmental impact of current meat production is unsustainable, lab grown meat combats this in several ways:
      - no need to have vast pastures for grazing, therefore no more clear cutting of rainforest or other forests
      - no need to grow large amounts of feed for raising animals, therefore better land usage to address human food needs
      - since labs can be set up anywhere, including city centers, there is no need to transport animals around to processing facilities, and then transport the meats around, thereby reducing additional pollution in several aspects
- lab grown meat removes some of the ethical concerns involved in meat production and consumption
- the ability to grow meats also has space travel and exploration applications; it might be nearly impossible to establish a pasture on Mars in any reasonable amount of time but setting up a lab is simple in comparison, long trips are also simplified by being able to synthesize meat en route instead of having to manage livestock or preserve enough food to make the trip
- the potential exists to adjust and tweak the lab grown meat in order to maximize its nutrition and minimize its negative health impacts
- custom flavors and styles of meats!
This is not an exhaustive list, but enough to get people thinking.
That environmental impact one is huge, take a few minutes to think about everything that goes into current meat production. Tractors to grow feed for animals (exhaust and soil erosion), vehicles to transport animals to processing centers (exhaust), machines at processing centers (various waste products and upkeep), vehicles to transport the processed meats to consumers (more exhaust and refrigeration during transport), then consumers driving to buy meats (more exhaust, plastics, Styrofoam)[naturally this last bit will…

This is the type of solution we need to be working on for many aspects of life.

President Pakled is so pathetic and weak that he had to bomb another country in an attempt to make up for his failed birthday parade. His helmet isn't big enough to lead a country. His flex shows how pathetic his bluster really is.

According to conservatives, it seems that reality now has a "liberal bias" since reality shows that they are wrong on every level.

the problem with modern technology is that it is not being developed and designed to serve people, it is being developed and designed to serve corporations and capitalism, therefore it is being designed to hinder, cripple, and exploit people

The act of public officials repeatedly lying to the American people, after being corrected, should be considered treason and punishable by catapult.

finally, his name became synonymous with keeping something all for oneself, depriving anyone else of having any. slang term derived from the last name of famous actor Humphrey Bogart because he often kept a cigarette in the corner of his mouth, seemingly never actually drawing on it or smoking it.

...to do something like that in the real world... you know, make a program that they grant access to an online trading platform and make it, I dunno... collapse the stock market? Seems like it is way passed time.

I read a fiction novel about some videogame programmers that had to stop a piece of software that was originally made for gold farming MMORPG auction houses that got loose and was devouring the stock market. Got me thinking... why hasn't some hacker collective decided...

No! Stupid advertising and marketing people weaponizing psychological research, instead of, you know, being decent people and saying, oh, maybe we shouldn't exploit the brain's weaknesses for profit.
