There are many reasons not to use WeTransfer (it sucks, private equity is involved and actively making it worse, they keep laying people off, 2GB is not enough even for a free service) and they might well be using everything for training data in secret, but the TOS don't provide a legal basis for it

This is a standard clause that allows a service to display your stuff on another screen aka needed for the core functionality of the service. The (clearly linked) Privacy & Cookie Policy lays out explicitly how and on what legal basis your info and content are used. GenAI training is not mentioned.
This is one of those moments where I’m overwhelmed and do not feel up to the task of capturing exactly what is happening in words as peaceful college students across the country are being thrown into the carceral grinder by their own administrations for the crime of sitting around and asking for the facilitation of less death but I will tell you one thing which is that we are currently experiencing a period of collective mass hysteria and mass psychosis I haven’t seen since the early 2000s where every lever of power in the so-called American liberal order – from the ostensibly liberal government to the ostensibly liberal media to ostensibly liberal academia – are all laser focused on one single thing: No matter the cost in blood or money, no matter the suffering of innocents, no matter the violations of supposed norms, the state of Israel must be allowed to massacre as many Palestinians as they wish and any effort to forestall that from Boston to Los Angeles to Atlanta to New York City should be met with the full force of the militarized police to “restore the peace.” This specific slaughter for some reason – and yes I know a number of the reasons – is worth any price we might have to pay at home in terms of dismantling our own Constitutional rights. It’s madness. People have gone mad. Normal people that we all know not just the easily dismissed as "evil" ones.

When people post pictures of themselves asking chatgpt questions instead of links or sources or anything, thats really when I start to suspect hmmm maybe I am having a stroke maybe I am experiencing a stroke related hallucination
Today, we at Google have a new product: what if you could could ask an app a question? Oh, we do that already? Well, what if we were a little bit worse at it? What if we also sometimes gave you egregiously wrong information? And what if it cost a billion dollars? Still not interested? It's mandatory
Large up man like Brian Eno hinside the ride
Can you imagine that Twitter was once a place where millions of famous artists and musicians and athletes (and unfortunately journalists and politicians) and so on would just log onto for free and post every day all day off the dome the thoughts and details of their every day lives?
An artist.
David Lynch smirking in an interview -Believe it or not, Eraserhead is my most spiritual film. -Elaborate on that. -No.
[I'm reminded of something really good or awful that happened] Oh man I remember exactly where I was at the time. Posting on this very computer.
Remember: It’s always more important to identify actors from their previous roles than it is to watch the current movie on your screen.
the nerds beat the jocks in the culture war but their whole thing depends on being perpetually aggrieved so they’ve decided to open up a new front against the arty weirdos
Every time I hear the Night Rider theme, I think of them, in the studio, in the ‘80’s, doing coke and saying “this should be a little faster” seven or eight times.
My relationship with Big wasn’t the only thing I blew up that day. At the Trinity test site I detonated the first plutonium bomb, unleashing a 22 kiloton blast. Had I become Death, destroyer of worlds? Meanwhile uptown, Samantha had her hands full with her own “Manhattan project”
I should use this as an opportunity to plug the TMSV SPACE PROGRAM episode:

Streaming in 2010: You can watch an entire catalog of amazing movies and TV shows for a reasonable monthly fee
Streaming in 2025: our library is Batman movies and 28 seasons of a Tim Allen sitcom, it costs $159/month. We just destroyed the last piece of evidence that Mister Rogers ever existed

it kicks ass that we've fully moved on from a model of internet success based on organically developing an audience who rewards you for creating interesting or entertaining work to everyone desperately trying to cheat their way into an audience so they can then scam them with various schemes
every new restaurant in every major city is either called Thistle+Thorn and thinks adding turmeric to brussel sprouts makes them worth $30 or is called Burger Bitch and has a neon sign in the window that says “im gonna fuck a hamburger”
How did the tech industry get so powerful? It's simple. There are major media outlets that will simply copy paste anything they say
Two kids are trapped in a darkened hjouse with no windows. One says "damn bro, looks like we got skinamarkinked." The other brother asks "how are we gonna get out of this one?" Suddenly the Kook Aid man bursts through a wall and says "OH YEAH!!!" He extends his hand and says "come with me if you want to live." The brothers seem delighted.
I have no idea what Opeth has been up to since 2005 and I don't care
Has this place turned into 2016 American lib twitter or is it just the algorithm punishing me specifically?
i love going back to 2005 and 2006 and reading articles about Lehman Brothers where they're like "this company ROCKS! Economy forever!"
