I am just blown away at how far #PC game translation layers have come for #Android! I am getting great performance and compatibility on my AYN Thor. #GameNative, #Wine, #Proton and all the other projects and devs working on these have done some amazing work! youtu.be/CHVHFR6U9dQ

Wow! Gaussian Splatting is incredible! This is a huge game changer in both videos and video games! youtu.be/X8yRlA7jqEQ
These are pretty neat! Color #eink “Polaroids” that you can tap and upload a photo to without the need for wifi or a battery to keep charged! www.theverge.com/tech/898162/...
Anyone else have “lyrical blindness” when listening to #music? I don’t process lyrics unless I focus hard on them, and I guess there is also an opposite phenomenon where your mind focuses primarily on the lyrics and their meaning before the actual music… just depends on how your brain is wired. 🧠
So awesome! This guy built his own clean room and #silicon etcher in his backyard so he can build his own #semiconductors! Talk about dedication! Would love to see how successful he gets! youtu.be/HfSO-LCKmrA
Did you know you can run 100% local #AI models on your iPhone? Check out #Enclave app! When running small distilled AI models like these, just know they are less accurate than big cloud models, but still a nice option for small inquiries! apps.apple.com/app/id647661...
#Apple #Silicon is hands down the best hardware to run local #LLM and #AI models! Looking forward to testing out the new M5 Max! youtu.be/XGe7ldwFLSE
Been playing with local #AI models and lately I have been really impressed with #Qwen open-source #LLM models. Qwen-3.5 and Qwen-Next recently dropped and have been great for assisting on projects! I also recommend #Zed IDE, which pairs great with #Ollama or #LMStudio. No cloud needed, 100% local!
We might be on the cusp of unlocking speeds of older chipsets by using #AI to find inefficiencies in the firmware. So we could see a massive jump in performance for older tech some day! Let’s just hope companies find a profitable way of making their old hardware better, so the incentive is there… 😅
If anyone wants to not support AI data centers, but still wants access to #AI. Download LM-Studio or Ollama and run AI on your own hardware. If you have a slower machine, keep your “B” low. Ex: ModelName-4B. While smaller models like this are not perfect, they can still be helpful!
This is such a crazy story, and a great lesson on #FOSS security! Story about how the internet was almost completely hacked! youtu.be/aoag03mSuXQ
Happy 40th Birthday #Zelda! Still one of the best game franchises ever made! Thank you #Nintendo and Miyamoto.
#Github Tip: If you come across a project that hasn’t been updated in a long time or is no longer maintained. Navigate to “Insights>Forks” or just add “/forks” to the end of the projects URL. Here you can see if anyone else has made their own fork of the project and is continuing development.
#LPT Flash drives and #SSD drives will begin to lose your data after only 2-3 years, if left unplugged. So don’t use them as a backup solution for something important! HDD drives are the best option for long term backups.

#LPT Get a dash cam for your car! They are inexpensive and could save you thousands of dollars down the road. Also, don’t cheap out on the SD card, pay a little extra and get a “high endurance” SD card, or at minimum a popular brand name. Always avoid very cheap SD cards.
Snatch game cover art
Playing #Snatcher on #SegaCD and loving it! A #Kojima classic! The navigation can be clunky at times, but considering it came out in 1988, it was way ahead of its time! If you love #Cyberpunk and #Bladerunner, this is worth a play!
A nice list of #diy #hardware projects to do with an #ESP32 #microcontroller! itsfoss.com/esp32-microc...
If you enjoy #Audiobooks, check out soundbooth.app! They do entire productions with sound effects and voice acting, and they are offering the first part of “Dungeon Crawler Carl” for free right now! Highly recommend it!
I use open-source locally run distilled LLMs to assist in debugging a difficult bug or to assist in a general understanding of how to approach a new concept or framework. I enjoy writing code myself, but AI is a nice co-pilot when I hit a bump in the road.
At EFF we spend a lot of time thinking about the tech used by police and authorities to spy on you while you’re going about your everyday life, like cell-site simulators (CSS). Rayhunter is a tool we’ve created that we hope empowers everyone to help search out CSS. www.eff.org/deeplinks/2...
Screenshot of gameplay from the Phoenix Wright game.
Played through the first #PhoenixWright game on #NintendoDS. Had a great time! Fun stories, fun characters, loved all the anime pixel art. I ended up playing via #emulation on my phone, since its almost entirely a touch based game. It played perfectly and worked great in a vertical layout.
Not sure why this is so hidden on #iPhone… but you can convert images to jpg, png, gif, pdf, etc directly on your phone without any apps. Just use this #shortcut I made. Once added, go to any image, tap share it, and scroll down to “convert image” button... 🤯 www.icloud.com/shortcuts/27...
This is awesome! Use #Mushrooms for storing data!? #Biotech www.techspot.com/news/110018-...
I built a small portable Timelapse Camera using a #RaspberryPi Zero. Check it out! github.com/dansl/Pi-Cam...
“Magic Carpet” 1 and 2 are some of the most unique #retrogames ever made! I played them in the 90’s, and I still play them even today. The first game was even ported to #Playstation and #SegaSaturn (PS1 version is better). Highly recommend playing them! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magic_C...
Right to repair and true digital ownership is so important! Love seeing initiatives like this! fulu.org
Full self-driving cars will not succeed without a #LiDAR and vision combination. LiDAR fills the voids that a “vision-only” vehicle leaves behind. I recently discovered #Luminar and am very excited about their LiDAR+vision tech! Really hoping it becomes the standard! www.luminartech.com
#LPT: Buy a #Battery tester! Every time I have changed batteries on a device, I find that only 1 or 2 of the batteries were bad, while the others were perfectly fine. Also, use rechargeable batteries! They might be expensive up front, but will save you tons of money down the road!
