I love the dynamic between these two so much bc theres so many layers

Emperor and general, lord and servant, idealist and faithful believer... royal and noble, brothers, friends, family... they know each other like no one else but as a result they are painfully aware that their paths have-

The great general of Changyang responsible for guarding the empire and the elusive emperor hidden within the palace walls. Once as close as blood related brothers, but time has morphed loyalty and affection into something twisted.

She's just so mother to me... and just because i am an evil god, one exchange she can never make is for the life of another, bc her abilities only allow her to bleed her life for power and never healing, no matter how much she wants it

The idea of sacrifice comes up like a lot in her story though the surface level is kind of an equivalent exchange type of deal but the more you delve into it she appears to be super unyielding but she gives up so much in her life for people she loves, quietly, for someone otherwise so loud & proud
