I was doing the same and found the same issues. Now, I am using a python script that extract the references, and check them against Crossref. I will not be surprise if this type of feature start to appear on review/submission portal.

Home Assistant is such a blast. I started with something simple like turning on a lamp when I got home (locally), and now it triggers the robot vacuum to clean up after the cats use their automatic litter box.
