Happy Chess Broadway Album day, time to listen to the whole thing 5 times and have strong opinions (mostly why is Florence singing Someone Else's Story, seriously)

Oh its okay I have PLI too, between us I think it'll cover 6 men shot out of a canon directly at the ceiling
Can you host MY 6 person acrobat troupe tho? Sometimes we also fire people out of canons is that okay?
ps. there's no queuing system on our website for these tix so you can get straight to it. #sketchcomedy

The glorious minds behind Simple Town chatted to The Guardian this week - oh oooh it's a good read.
“We really believe in it… the work we’ve done together is the best work any of us has done.”
You truly 'can’t keep a good sketch troupe down.'

Greys Anatomy really winding me up with their empty coffee cup nonsense in the latest episode. Even the sound as they put them down, not just the waving them around wildly. Just pop a bit of water in them please I'm begging you.
Just heard an AI ethicist talk about how important it is that we say ‘MEN are using Grok to undress images of babies, children and women’ not ‘Grok is….’. Grok isn’t responsible for the action, the men enabling & using it for this repulsive purpose are. Small but important bit of linguistic accuracy
How have I ONLY JUST seen that Aaron Tviet is in the Broadway Chess???? I don't care about Lea Michelle as Florence
No! I'm Bristol 😂😂
Wait you're in Bristol now?? Hang out with me!!
A photograph of a red brick building against a blue sky with clouds. It says "cygnet theatre" at the top and is accessed under a wrought iron archway.
New Christmas rehearsals venue for me, hello Exeter I'm excited to find out how your festive season feels.
Something really satisfying about changing my own headlight bulbs in the Halfords car park, 2 bays over from a Halfords colleague fitting someone else's. He didn't realise I was racing him. I won.
Me after a rough day at work closing 16 tabs that are all variations of "reconfigure router" "changing IP addresses" "setting up networks for idiots"
About to spend the whole autumn touring and whilst excited for the new projects, slightly sad that I might miss out on my favourite season by being inside in the dark all the time 😂
New #EdFringe Review
Edinburgh Fringe Review: The Little Prince at Pleasance Courtyard
"a moving and creative piece of theatre that does the book more than justice.”
A theatre poster featuring 5 people gathered round one man who is reading a newpaper. From left to right a woman in an orange jumper with short black hair. a ginger man with a beard whose outfit is hidden by the newspaper. a woman in a lime green jumper. a black man looking out to camera, holding a newspaper which reads "kool story bro on uk tour" on the front page. He is wearing a dark green bomber jacket, a red tie and olive green trousers. A tall man with brown hair peering over the previous man's head. A woman with long curly hair wearing a bright blue wool blazer. Text in the top right reads "kiell smith-bynoe & friends: kool story bro. 15 - 22 aug, pleasance". In the bottom left is a logo for berks nest and the text "edinburgh fringe 2025"
Kool Story Bro is at Pleasance Courtyard from 15-22 August and features the one and only Kiell Smith-Bynoe plus some of his very funny friends. An improv show that will definitely change every night with a new surprise guest.

A theatre poster featuring three people stood behind each other facing the camera and one person crouched in front of them. The background is an industrial kitchen. Text in the top right reads "simple town, 11-24 aug, pleasance". Text in the bottom left has a logo for Berks Nest and says "edinburgh fringe 2025"
Simple Town is at Pleasance Courtyard from 11th - 24th. All the way from the USA a sketch show from a group that I was told "has had a few viral videos". Promises to be funny.

A theatre poster featuring 3 images of the same man imposed over the top of each other. In 2 of the images he has his arms in the air and appears to be falling. In the third central image he is still but looking into the distance. Text in the top left corner reads "3:50pm 18-24th" text in the bottom middle reads "ad infinitum presents Last Rites" above that text to the left is a yellow logo for pleasance courtyard venues and above to the right is a pink logo for the here and now showcase.
Last Rites will be at Pleasance Courtyard for the last week of Fringe as part of the Here & Now showcase. Having toured with it earlier this year it still makes me laugh and cry every show. Cleverest physical storytelling I've seen.

A theatre poster showing a blonde white man wearing a green scarf, and pilot goggles pushed up onto his head. He is looking up and smiling. Text in the top left reads The Little Prince but the I in prince has been replaced by a tall crown. In the bottom left text reads "12 noon, 30 july - 25 august". Beneath it is a logo for pleasance courtyard venue.
The Little Prince will be in Pleasance Courtyard for the whole month. It's a real gem of a show and will make you feel very warm inside. At midday it's a perfect hangover cure, gentle and not too early but very whimsical and joyful.

Bottom right is 3 people stood behind each other looking at the camera and a 4th person crouched in front. They are all wearing light coloured t shirts and appear to be in an industrial kitchen. #BreakALeg to all at the multi-award-winning Edinburgh Fringe debut, The Chaos That Has Been and Will No Doubt Return, which tonight embarks on a major UK tour

Browsing the Fringe brochure and playing my favourite game of:
Is this site specific listing actually site specific or is it just:
A) outdoors
B) in a church
C) not in a traditional theatre
D) underground
(All of which are cool, just not necessarily site specific)
That's insane, how did that even happen?? At what point did they think oh yeah we should get back to them
The bar is low, for small freelance gigs people rarely want feedback on why just to know whether or not they need to look for other work. Balancing dates is hard enough without keeping things free for a job that has already rejected you but not let you know.
The sheer number of times I have applied/interviewed for a role and had to assume I haven't got it when the start date of the project passes.
Even worse I've had companies approach me asking for CV & A/V and then never hear despite promising to reply within a week.
Hey pals, take care and drink lots of water even if the temperature is "going down". Heatstroke sucks
Heck yeah!!!

A picture of a book shop with wooden floors and floor to ceiling shelves. All the books look aged and most are hardback. Brown paper tags sit on the front of shelves labelling the genres.
A narrow tarmac path proceeds away from the camera with a grassy verge on either side of it. This sits above the sea which looks choppy. The sky is overcast and along the horizon there are sand dunes which the path leads towards.
Today's lunchtime finish meant a visit to a vintage book store and a walk along a very windy coastal path. Big thumbs up for St Helens
