After you've watched Physical 100 and Ninja Warrior (before they removed the fun stuff), the new American Gladiators just feels like it lacks ambition.
Maybe it's me though. British Bake Off and Culinary Class Wars have ruined the Food Network for me.

If this is real, I don’t hate the way Link looks.
I’m still heavily on the fence as far as whether I’m okay with him talking, but in terms of understanding the Zelda aesthetic, I think this is very Twilight Princess coded, and I’m okay with that.
I realize it’s meant for young readers, but The First Cat in Space is pretty hilarious, and has such a fun style, and even soundtracks.
I’m surprised DreamWorks hasn’t already made three movies.
The D+ live action Star Wars is the only time in my life my mom has bothered to learn Star Wars names/planets/whatever, so she's looking forward to the movie showing up on streaming. There is just no impetus for getting her to a theater.
I do wonder how widespread that feeling is.
I was trying to think of the last time I looked at a piece of key art for a convention and thought "I'd put that on my wall."
It's hard to think of others, because it's usually so corporate and and clip-arty.
All to say, I don't think it's worth getting hung up on a boring poster.
Monetizing engagement has sure made a lot of fandoms suck.
Interesting that 2027 will be Star Wars’ 50th and Spaceballs’ 40th. Good timing.
I really hope Mel’s longevity genes carry him through to the premiere.
Oh, hey! This app is working again!
I’m still surprised nobody’s pulled out of the World Cup in protest.
If only we had a third fighting game movie to round out the arcade that is this year’s overpriced B movies.
My pick would be Punch Out.
Uh oh.
So like... Sure feels like Disney is giving up on the MCU with these layoffs.
What's crazy if I'm even more bummed about the loss of the home media folks. I can't be the only person out here still trying to have a movie library.
I can't see the name "Meghan Trainor" anymore without thinking about the tandem toilet thing.
I will never desire that level of intimacy with another human.
Look. I get that I was only ever seeing this movie out of a sense of nostalgia for something I watched when I was five, but like… I’m gonna drink out of that sword.
Okay, given that they’re selling foam hulk fists for $100, what are we thinking? $125 and then around $30 a year from launch (like the Magneto helmet) or will it hold its price like that Doom mask?
It’s well known that Umwak was a DEI hire.
What “cheapens” or enhances a saga relies SO much on when you were born.
Sort of feel like a Molotov cocktail is going to seem quaint as the AI push starts putting more and more people out of work.
I just saw ChaO, and I have to say, as much as I love The Little Mermaid, I think the Japanese have us outmatched on “boy meets fish girl” movies.
Guess it's all about that splash-down at this point. Bummer it's miles off the other coast. I'd love to witness that.
Heck yeah. Glad all went according to plan. A bright spot in a weird weird month we've been having in a weird weird decade we've all had to endure.
Look. You don’t NEED the new Malcolm in the Middle. I think some of the worst episodes of the original are better than this entire miniseries.
It’s fun though, and it’s nice to see everyone again, knowing it’s a one-off.
The last panel of this week’s Dandadan must have been fun to draw.
TFW you look up old game ads only to realize a character you thought was in his 60s is actually only 36, and you are now canonically older than him.
Sigh... I need to start telling young adults to do barrel rolls to make up for lost time.
Also... is OG Slippy wearing Buddhist prayer beads?
My step-father texted to ask if Kurt Russell was dead in this season and I was like “watch the damn show.”
I've said it once and I'll say it again... Kyle Gass's birthday wish joke was not that bad and everyone owes him an apology.
Still on my Mario thing.
With $350m+, Illumination will once again learn the wrong lessons and continue chugging out more of the same.
I guess it bugs me because the movies look great and are so nearly ABOUT something. It’s how close it is to being really good that bugs me.
Here’s the unavoidable comparison: I think the Sonic movies do more with less.
Like, I think the Sonic movies want to be about something other than “Sonic goes to a place from a game and does stuff with cameos.”
It feels like an unfortunate outgrowth of Illumination making short movies.
