Have done Antique an ORVW10 blind side by side. Same recipe afaik and they were effectively indistinguishable. Can’t find it anymore like I used to ☹️

Not fair to the others to stick Antique in there…

I will note this is also why it's totally insane to make event planning committees just a bunch of college faculty. You cannot possibly pick a worse bunch of people to do this task.

Try to plan an event without prior experience in this. Absolute disaster.

Add in the book chapters and unpublished stuff and we're probably a good bit beyond the 2,000 page mark (double spaced 12-point font in Word) and I don't really know why I've subjected myself to such misery...

Had my 50th career journal paper accepted today. I don't think it means anything, just a nice round number. Trying to fathom college freshman me having any interest in writing that much text that nobody will read, though...

(I will also note that I of course think it is fun data and a neat idea, straight forward, with clear limitations noted in the paper)

After my 1st submission experience contributing with lab coat Kinesiology folks, as @rodneyfort.bsky.social calls them, it is clear that I need to include an example of review and editor comments for one of my own *accepted* part at an Econ journal in my dossier to show them my alternative reality 👀

The eternal curse of walking to your office with the umbrella yesterday but not bringing it back to the car for the rainy walk to the office today…

Glad to see strong and reasoned critique of this nonsense.

Nothing nice to say about the idea that “sampling” from ChatGPT is some sort of valid approach to human measurement so I’m just going to keep my mouth shut and leave it to good folks like this.

RFK Jr once cut penis off ‘road-killed raccoon’ in New York, new book reveals Health secretary in a diary entry said his kids were in the car as he cut off animal’s genitals in 2001 to ‘study them later’

I’m sorry to say the raccoon penis heroin guy is apparently real.

My one game at the Trop it was eerily quiet and an overall odd experience. But that was probably more than a decade ago now

Say it with me: baseball is not basketball.

This is the baseball version of pivot to video. Nobody asked for this.

Screenshot of a spam email sent at 11:10 a.m. with the subject line “Hey Shibe Park team”.

The message reads:

Shibe Park team - noticed Connie Mack Stadium hosted countless public events and games. When did the AC last get checked before summer events?

A local historical landmark we inspected nearby had filters months overdue, airflow had dropped before summer events.

Just want to rule out any airflow issues before the heat hits. What's the best number to call you?

Black and white photo of Connie Mack Stadium in Philadelphia following a 1971 fire that destroyed part of the grandstand. The corner tower with its domed cupola, which had previously been Connie Mack’s office, stands in the center. The stadium was finally torn down in 1976.

Received an incredible spam email today from an HVAC company that wants to provide tuneup service for … Connie Mack Stadium in Philadelphia. Yes, we’ll get right on that. The A’s really have let the place go in the last 50 years.

Base 2018 Topps Chrome Ohtani RC is now selling for $500 each ungraded.

I sold 2 for $30 each in early 2021.

Bowman paper base RC now going for $100 each.

I had 9 of them. My dog ate 6 and I sold the other 3 for $6 each.

Oops.

To be clear, I'm not saying it's inconsistent with the states' claim (as noted in the quote, sounds like it is).

But most individual public complaints I see are orders of magnitude higher than the actual damages implied here.

I have not followed the Live Nation/Ticketmaster thing closely to be honest. But worth noting the top-line numbers on what folks like to cite as huge prices and fees are not consistent with the actual determination, which implies a much lower per-ticket cost to consumers (but big # in aggregate).
