Friend, I've been working in what we insist on still calling "New Media" since it was basically invented. I was making YouTube before YouTube was INVENTED. And I'm telling you it's a garbage dump. On the VERY rare occasion I've had to brush up against "real world media jobs?" Night and day.

The entire "new media" ecosystem needs to be razed to the ground and the HANDFUL of people who I'd say don't deserve to go with it should simply be elevated into "REAL media" (i.e. with actual job security and infrastructure)

Because look, here's the thing: If I had NO IDEA who Hasan Piker was, you gave me this poll, I asked a follow-up and you said "He's a political podcaster!" ?

I would check "UNFAVORABLE!" without knowing a single other thing 😉🤷‍♂️
