The most interesting fact I found while researching this is that it would take about 100,000 3.5-inch floppies to store Baldur’s Gate 3. And I thought six floppies for Windows 3.1 was a lot.

And now, for something completely different. I went ghost hunting! Virtually, at least. 😊 And threw random stuff at everyone.
Exactly. When Supernatural disappeared off Netflix early in my viewing (yes, I’m a bit late), I bought it on DVD so that would never happen to me again. Yes, it’s back on Prime now, but I’m ready for when they drop it, too.
That’s my favorite flavor of my favorite seltzer. I drank it all the time when I lived there. 😊
Meanwhile, human writers like me are constantly accused of being AI. My canned response to that is, “Negative. I am a meat popsicle.”
It’s about time standards and testing procedures came out of the 1970s when they were first established. Better late than never.
It’s not the collab we expected, but it’s the collab we need.
Gas is up more than $1/gal since we picked a fight with Iran, but diesel is up $2/gal. Everything we buy rides on a truck at some point, and those extra costs are going to bite us, too.
Contrary to popular belief, streaming has not killed the radio star. This is one of those times I enjoyed learning something new while I write.

We could do with a bit less international power and taking care of the mess at home instead.
That's exactly why I don't have a daily driver/tinker car of my own these days. I'd like one, but there's no room in the budget.
I lived in a cohousing community in Massachusetts for two years. I enjoyed walking to visit friends, and carpooling to the commuter rail station with neighbors who became friends and worked a similar schedule to mine. I like cars, but I'd enjoy not needing one to do everything or get anywhere.
Toyota is still trying to make fuel cells work. The technology got us to the moon (the first time, because I have to make that distinction now), but finding a hydrogen refueling station along the way is nearly impossible. That's why it's really a no-go for commercial trucking.
Even I’m 66%! Some of it’s due to my New England upbringing. Some from my Canadian ex-wife. Some from my travel, camper van and motorcycle (I had to ride the Cabot Trail, which led me to Cape Breton Highlands and Fundy National Parks)
I'd forgotten until now that I won "Comment of the Day" with my comment on this. 🙂
@jerrysmith6559.bsky.social in my travels today, seeking crosslinks for an article I'm writing, I found this article of yours on Jalopnik. I enjoyed it then, and I enjoy it now.
NASA's "The Edge of Two Worlds" photo of the moon with a cresent Earth in the background, plus an Eagle from "Space: 1999"
In my article, I wrote that this photo looks like a screen grab from a modern remake of "Space: 1999." Here's what I mean. 🙂
I spent October 2021 traveling nearly the entire length of Route 66 in my camper van with some friends. My story begins here.
“From out there on the moon, international politics look so petty. You want to grab a politician by the scruff of the neck and drag him a quarter of a million miles out and say, ‘Look at that, you son of a bitch.” -- Edgar Mitchell, Apollo 14 Lunar Module Pilot
I never thought I'd be living in a time like the 1960s, simultaneously marveling at moon missions and scared of nuclear war.
It's because college is not The One True Way. It's certainly one valid way, but the trades have been neglected, and that's why it's so hard to find a good mechanic, electrician, or plumber these days.
Even in this picture from the moon, it’s still a pale blue dot.
