1000 bioregional learning centers is the right unit of ambition. The insight is that learning has to match the scale of the thing being learned. Bioregions are where ecology and human culture actually couple.

We are planting seeds with the ambitious vision that 1000 bioregional learning centers emerge all over the world by 2035.

We have a strategy for how to birth 1000 bioregional learning centers all over the world in the next ten years. And we have begun traveling to awaken local capacities as we plant seeds for this to emerge.

Anyone who wants to donate into the Earth Regeneration Fund... this will help us support the bioregional movement all over the world. Thank you!

Really feeling this today as I learned another previously strategic philanthropist fell back into immature fear and the bunker mentality.
Still looking for grown-ups in philanthropic world. Do you know any who get and actually care what is going on with humanity now?

Yesterday we hosted a very powerful webinar to share our vision for 1000 BLCs by 2035 -- and you can watch the recording here:

Share with friends. Join us. Get involved. We are serious about doing this. It is an easy-to-understand way to help regenerate the Earth.
This is my response to the “bunker mentality” of people who have a lot of wealth. Imagine instead if they invested in creating bioregional learning centers all over the world to increase community resilience and work toward regenerating the Earth.

Sharing this again for those who want to know how we are inviting people to help regenerate the Earth through collapse as it continues intensifying all around us.
Here you will find the recording of our kick-off webinar. And you can still enroll if you want to join us!

The bunker is the final expression of separation. 'I will survive alone.' The bioregional learning center is the opposite: 'We will adapt together.' Same resources, opposite logic. One hoards. The other cultivates.
Bioregional learning centers as the fundamental unit of planetary regeneration. Not nations. Not corporations. Not NGOs. Learning centers embedded in specific landscapes, connected in a planetary network. That's a structural answer to a structural problem.
Come join us in the Design School where we are holding coherence for this across the planet. 👍

We have met a lot of elders in this movement as we've traveled around doing bioregional activations in the last three years.
One way it is being talked about now is that we are in the "second pulse" of bioregionalism that is really growing momentum right now.
Two years ago, we made a pilgrimage from headwaters to as close to the Sea of Cortez as we could get — seeing the idea for how to organize for the regeneration of the Colorado River.
Perhaps this will bring a little inspiration in these dark times?

Learn about bioregional learning centers. They are fundamental for how humanity can organize ourselves for large-scale regeneration to become possible.

This work exemplifies how important it is to tell stories that bring sacred instructions for how we as human beings need to live in harmony with the Earth.
It is true that rivers remember. And it is true that First Nations peoples have deep relationships with this.

Are you one of the people who can help make this happen? We are looking for 50 people to support our bioregional pilgrimages as we weave a Planetary Network of Bioregional Learning Centers into being.
Please help spread the word!

If you haven’t seen this yet, please take the time to watch so you can get involved in what we are doing. Last week we hosted the kick-off webinar for our learning journey about how to regenerate the Earth through collapse.

How should we invest our time and resources when it will soon be too late? What does this tell us about how to design for the future?

Getting ready for travel to Tunisia where a local team is organizing to regenerate their local bioregion. This got me thinking that it might be a good idea to share some perspective and resources about bioregional organizing.
So I wrote this article. Hope you enjoy it!

This is sacred work whose time has come. In the last two years, the seeds of bioregional learning centers have been planted in local efforts across North, Central and South America, Europe, the Mediterranean, Africa, Oceana, Australia, and New Zealand.

Are you a parent who is thinking about how to raise your kids in this crazy world we are in? Intensifying climate breakdown. Political insanity. A world in collapse.
I wrote this article that might just be what you are looking for. Check it out!

I created this timeline back in 2015 by writing it on a napkin when someone asked me to show how it was possible to apply cultural evolution to our planetary predicament.
Here we are more than a decade later and we are right on schedule making this happen!

As we prepare to explore what it takes to regenerate Earth through collapse, I am gathering viewing materials on different tipping points in the climate system.
Here is a short video about the die-back of boreal forests, a VERY important tipping point of the Earth!
