hell, I have blogs dedicated to niches too! I have a blog I used to upload classic doctor who gifs on and I have an autumn blog I return to yearly to reblog beautiful pictures of fall leaves and autumn art on. Even when posts are several years old, people still share them because they're pretty.

they'll gif a shot from a movie that only lasts 3 seconds that you might not even remember, but by gifing it, you gain a new appreciation for how beautiful that single shot is in general and linger on it longer. And gifs like this get shared around by everyone

people love to shit on Tumblr, but if you ask me, it's a place filled with people who earnestly love art and the world. Be it niche, popular, old or new, you'll always find multiple blogs dedicated to making gifs of animated shows/movies or a specific aesthetic, season, subject etc.

The sick and twisted thing is that I take a lot of art inspiration from the beauty of nature and the every day mundane, but the way life's been hasn't allowed me to appreciate any of it. The housing market has been a problem for ages now but being 26 and forced to live with your parents... it drains

There are very few alternatives who have enough space to take on a project like this. Even Glitch has reached a limit, even though they'd love to take on a lot of projects.

A budget. Like, you can't expect frequent cute shorts without a budget to pay for animators (plural), voice actors, directors, writers etc.
