Be sure to click the link above and not the video image because apparently Vimeo doesn't want to make anything easy.
The documentary I made with Miss Major 10 years ago is available to stream free on Vimeo. If you want to spend some time with her and her loved ones, and learn some abolitionist trans history while you're at it, updated streaming link is here: vimeo.com/whatdowewant...
Updated free streaming link since Vimeo wasn't playing well with promo codes: vimeo.com/whatdowewant...
Vimeo is telling me they’re having technical problems with promo codes right now 🙄 If you reach out to me through the contact page on www.missmajorfilm.com I can see about getting your class a link?
Code is active until 10/31, go to sleep! 🖤

We're all traveling a path Miss Major paved for us. She touched so many lives, and left her mark across 50 years of organizing, fighting, and loving. I miss her deeply. But I know she’s going to persist as the most hands-on ancestor we’ve got. Rest in Power 🖤👠 www.them.us/story/miss-m...

My piece on Sinners, its questions and considerations of ownership and freedom, and how Ryan Coogler utilized those themes to create a legacy for himself and Black creatives. #Sinners
SINNERS
I know you aren't going to want to hear this but the reason the system can deport Mahmoud Khalil and send Kilmar Abrego Garcia to El Salvador is that for years we've been executing factually innocent people like Marcellus Williams and sending legally innocent people to places like Riker's Island.
Crush the oligarchy includes Joanne.
1,100 pieces against trans people in just 4 papers over 1 year. Almost 1 a day per paper. With absolutely no recourse at all. Is it any wonder that trans people are both angry and terrified?
💜💜💜 sending love and fortitude (and rest!)
Fine. Whatever.

The National Park Service made Stonewall a national monument in 2016. Today, all language pertaining to trans people is gone from the page - it's LGB, the T and the Q are gone. Visit their site, click NO on "was this page helpful," and let them know what you think of this. www.nps.gov/ston/index.htm
Illustration of a white cop's hand holding a club, and a Black trans woman's fist defiantly holding a red stiletto shoe in opposition against a nighttime city skyline.
Making MAJOR! was one of the most incredible collaborative processes I've ever been part of, and now more than ever it's so vital that WE preserve our history, in the face of authoritarians who would seek to erase it.
Our stories are our power, and they cannot be burned away.
Black and brown trans women started Stonewall.
Stonewall was an uprising against cops.
Stonewall is the reason we celebrate Pride month.
Stonewall is and always will be trans history.
Here's Black trans elder and activist Miss Major describing that night in her own words.

Meme showing screenshots from Star Wars where Padme says “so this is how liberty dies” and instead of saying “with thunderous applause” it says “with a coup by a fake government agency named after a meme run by the most divorced man alive and his troop of incel twinks”
Deeply good writing from @theradr.bsky.social on how we meet this moment, and this line really hit home:
“They are deliberately attempting to trigger a trauma response so that we are less able to respond from our whole selves and more likely to just go along with whatever's happening.”

"Europeans who witnessed democracy crumble before their eyes have some words of advice for Americans now entering the second Trump era.... stay united, safeguard your civic institutions and never, never give up." www.theguardian.com/world/2025/f...
Someone please update this so I understand how the US government now works...
I’m just a girl, standing in front of the DNC, asking for a real opposition party.
Do Not Comply In Advance: bossy, already a cliche, implies permission to comply later
Fuck You, Make Me: leads by example, directs yelling at opposition instead of allies, easy to chant at a protest or put on a banner
