the mobile layout is still a work in progress and it’s always going to make some sacrifices of the art, but i want the story to be readable on any device :’)

i’m here for gratitude and gathering around to eat together, but “reaping what you sow” is also coming to mind

you KNOW im grinding my teeth trying to write an inspirational thanksgiving message at work when my partner has been in the hospital and i have -$50 in my bank account and the world is burning and the autumn harvest itself has been distorted into gross celebration of colonialism

at best, it feels naive. at minimum, it feels out-of-touch. at worst, it’s a grotesque display of wealth. or maybe it’s just optics to disguise the fact that almost everyone is cutting back and fearing the future. lol

the “abundance” thing is really starting to bother me. it lowkey feels like the most affluent in our country gloating while the rest of us starve lol

i don’t think we should all have to have the privilege of traveling to understand that the world is so much bigger than we can see directly around us. and also that what’s around us is incredible in its own right. and so worth saving 😭

and there are other angles to it — voyeurism and decontextualization and the framing of the storytellers — but the world is changing so rapidly. i think there’s something genuinely incredible about capturing these moments in time, en masse, w/o the institutional oversight to massage the narrative

everywhere has its own unique beauty and everyone on this planet is living such a rich life. idk watching some of these videos, it’s wild to me how historically unprecedented it is to see so casually into people’s lives and homes and environments. without a huge documentary production budget!

watching a lot of travel videos lately has made me so eager to travel, but i also feel there’s something really special about the art/act of recording and allowing places, people, moments etc to be experienced in perpetuity from all over the world

watching one rn that’s just called “I Found Giant Trees On Google Earth” and it’s just the most incredible footage of the remaining west coast old growth forest. it’s breathtaking. you can tell some of these creators, in pursuit of Content, are having the most profound experiences of their lives

i’ve been watching a lot of youtube videos lately and i don’t think, we as a society, appreciate the amount of unique recording done by amateurs. every day i see drone footage that makes my jaw drop

I found a big sign at the thrift shop with some live/laugh/love stuff on it, so I painted over that with my to-do list. Feel free to make it yours, too.

Alice Wong taught us that disabled people don’t just leave memories behind—they leave infrastructure. Lineages of care. Methods of collectivity, survival. She named the connective tissue that holds our communities together, even across death, even across the losses that come too fast and too often.

Sad and cold day. Feeling more isolated than usual.

I don’t know what else to do to say. It’s not like someone will magically appear to hug me for hours.
