Not "share 77 genes". Share an effect on the expression of 77 genes. (Intersection of 725 and 633). Pattinson's is a disease, not a virus, so it doesn't "have genes".

I'm inclined to think your jar guess is better. I've never seen instructions on an insulator - more manufacturer's name, dates, model numbers...

I commented on a Canadian politics thread - that the posters' view was overly simplistic. I'm part of the club.

The question is whether everyone would rather wake up in the dark until 9am.

I apparently see a situation that is much more nuanced than your all or nothing perspective.

Meeting on trade with many foreign leaders to open new markets, while trying to negotiate with largest historical trading partner == capitulation. Ok, I see.

How is that capitulation, let alone "the definition of"?

Canada has to import Bauxite. There aren't any domestic mines.

Ah, you reworded from "increased by 121%" to "is 121% of what it was". "Increased by 21%" is a much clearer statement. Using 121% in that way is trying to mislead with statistics.

I see you deleted your original reply (in order to orphan my correction?) but didn't correct yourself. That is an increase of 21% not 121%.

My original 30-fold did not account for that. Let's adjust my 3000% down to 2979% due to population growth.

That's an increase of 21%.

No, I *think* is not a substitute for a breadth of knowledge and resources, but a blanket "it's not climate change" doesn't leverage that. It's about as convincing as:

Yes, a volcano went off nearby, but don't overlook that animals sometimes lose their desire to breathe.

9 months ago 0 0 1 0

1 & 2 are good points.
3, I don't believe there's been a behavioral change in Canada comparable to the scale of climate change.
4 is an odd one. People aren't avoiding repellents that weren't widely known or commercially available until recently enough to affect stats.

You said it's unlikely related to climate change. I think climate change is the most significant factor for increase in Canada, but I'm open to counter-arguments or counter-examples.
