For the area that I know well (hiking and camping) Reddit and my knowledge diverge from wirecutter. Sometimes I just want someone else to make the decision for me though.

The Carl Albert Center hosts two endowed lectures and if you try to move out of the faculty speaker space the prices get high very quickly. On the other hand, the honorariums are very good for faculty speakers.
