Tweet from Stephen Miller: "An insurrection against the laws and sovereignty of the United States."
Pretty clearly setting the stage to use the Insurrection Act to crack down on domestic protests within the US.

if you like the source"
Great loud music, zero to nervous good times in 4 minutes
One of my favorite albums, one of my favorite songwriters, and now, one of my favorite interviews. Check out my chat w/ the mighty @robynhitchcock.bsky.social!
So much great music from David Thomas and Pere Ubu. The Modern Dance in particular demanded your attention, full of life and despair and madness. RIP.
Pere Ubu founder David Thomas has passed away at 71, confirmed by the vocalist's family on the band's Facebook page. www.pastemagazine.com/music/pere-u...
Finally got the go-ahead to post my rejected theme song for Halt And Catch Fire. IT’S THEIR LOSS
All the Dolls are gone, this is a lovely memory.
I agree, though the movie itself tried to warn us this would happen.
This is the best in recent memory, equal time for most folks, nothing detracting from the people that were honoring. A++
"How many more lives?!!?!"
It's an amazing movie in many ways, but has utterly committed tough as nails performance seals the deal.
As you go through your day, please consider whether vinegar might be the solution to your problem. It's a high quality multipurpose substance.
Maybe I'm late to the party but I'm just just sayin' - plus one for vinegar.
I have a strong affection for the songs of that period - Guilford, DeChirico Street, Alright Yeah, Sinister But She Was Happy, Wide Open Star and especially the drone of You and Oblivion. Just some random 90's remembrances; cold, wet budget-conscious December good times in New York. 4/4
@gildabeast.bsky.social took me to see Robyn once before in 1995 (Dallas, Poor David's Pub) and this era was my intro to solo-Robyn after just being familiar with the Soft Boys CD reissues - happily finding that Live at the Portland Arms' tone was the norm. 3/4
In the second pic you can (of course) see a cone near a follow spot light (left side) and a pair of speakers on either side of the window. These are the only documentation I have of our being there; maybe you can pick out our particular applause during the movie? 2/4
Hello, starter pack Fegmaniax. December 1996 - a not-great pair of photos outside the location for Storefront Hitchcock. @gildabeast.bsky.social made this fabulous trip happen in that analog era. In the first you can see a PA speaker to the left of the window featured in the film. 1/4 #fegmaniax

1/ A thread about why the gutting of journalism, and local news in particular, is a main reason why we are here. And what you can do—constructively—to help.
Let's start with the homepage of @dallasnews.com. Mostly sports. Almost nothing about what's happening in DC—THAT AFFECTS TEXANS
Dems should not allow anything to move in the House or Senate until this is dealt with. Dem have the power in both chambers to jam up the works, and they need to use it.
That isn't a radical tactic, it's what the GOP has done for years for trivial matters. Unlike this, which is catastrophic.
If you have elderly family members, you might check their amazon accounts for unwanted subscriptions. Examples of items that default to subscriptions (rather than one time purchases) include - vacuum cleaner bags, coffee filters, eye vitamins (not a category I was aware of).
You read my mind!
David Lynch’s steadfastness in refusing to explain his films reminded me that art does not have to justify itself. It can be enigmatic, and doesn’t owe anyone anything. He was an inspiring presence in the world, and will be missed so very much.
RIP to a true humanitarian.
