It is now 5 am but I took this leading up to the ceasefire in Beirut. Everyone is up and counting the minutes.

This was about 5 hours ago, during Natany*hu’s speech agreeing to the ceasefire, and again, big hits. lol. It’s been hellfire today, non stop hits all over Lebanon trying to squeeze in as much damage as possible.

For a little more context as well around the announced ceasefire and immediate hits right after (and all day and all evening). @chehayebk.bsky.social

About 2 hours ago- Biden announces the ceasefire and 10 minutes later huge Isra*li hits lol The irony.

Today’s hits in Beirut are going to be so intense before this supposed ceasefire, with so many evacuating causing traffic on the roads. Threats on Ras Beirut, Mazraa, Mar Elias, Zkak el Blat.

2 photos are of Mariam’s building destroyed last night in Beirut’s Dahyeh’s hits. The others are about those strikes using that very photo (Instagram: @megaphonenews). I know so many who have lost their homes and buildings in Beirut and the South. Unlike many, lucky not to have lost anyone so far❤️‍🩹

I reshared these on my Insta @may_mroueadra. One story is shared by Ruwan losing her neighbor she grew up with, and the other is an account of Rayan’s story since she was in the building right next to the one hit and how she and her family barely escaped. Since then we’ve had more hits. Stop this.

We don’t even live right there and the smoke and smells reached us making us cough. It was so loud we thought it was in our area.

On Sat Nov 22 at 4am, Isra*el hit Basta in Beirut with many strikes, an explosion so big it left a crater. No warning. Leveling an 8-story building, & damaging many others. Bunker bombs used, like those on Nasrallah & Safieddine. It was terrifying. A day after Lebanese “Independence Day”, the irony.

Worried about a close friend living in Ras el Nebaa yesterday afternoon, and yesterday evening worried about another close friend living in Mar Elias, and now they worry about me in Zoukak el Blat- all in the center of Beirut. Not to mention their strikes in Sour all this time as well. Out of words.

Isra*l hit my neighborhood of Zoukak el Blat about two hours ago. No evacuation warnings. Smoke and the missile’s gunfire reached us but we are safe. I took this video an hour ago. Three hits in central Beirut over two days. This is madness.

Happy Monday to a Beirut shitshow and welcome to me on this less problematic version of Twitter! Genuine question: messages shared were called tweets that we tweeted. So what are they called here? “Hey check my sky?” “Did you see what they skyed yesterday?” I need to get to the bottom of this. وشكراً
