I don't know if it's my wlw self or I'm on the wrong side of bluesky, but I heard a lot of chatter about Astarion when Lae'zel and Shadowheart are right there, and I probably would have picked up #BG3 a lot sooner if I'd heard about the women, you know?

An excellent thread
"On March 21, 2018, while...in a Wellness Counselor/Coordinator role at Canada's largest university, I first met the woman whose hands I have most entrusted my fat brown queer disabled immigrant woman's body, but I said a tearful goodbye...at our final...appointment prior to her practice closure." 🥹
A screenshot of the audiobook cover of Refusing Compulsory Sexuality: A Black Asexual Lens on our Sex-Obsessed Culture by Sherronda Brown. The audiobook is 83% finished in Chapter 10. The cover is purple with pink and white text, with a large letter A in the background that is purple and orange.
This book is so validating and just a lovely read as an asexual person. Also very informative on the specific experiences of and prejudices against Black asexual people. I'm listening while playing Against the Storm on my PC

I love the Asgard!
I don't keep doomers in my feed but since apparently some folks do: "celebrate each and every win, loudly" is Organizing 101
The whistle plates are feeling temperamental in this unexpected Alabama freeze, so instead of the cracking videos, enjoy 40 seconds of pretty colored whistles falling from the sky. 😂

Out today - Axis of Empire: A History of Iran–US Relations by Afshin Matin-Asgari
A labyrinthine tale of American imperial misadventures, Axis of Empire offers a sophisticated account of Iran-US history.
Thank you, I'll try that!
I watched V for Vendetta for the first time tonight at girls night. I decided that I would like to see much better versions of a similar idea. Any recs for not too gory revenge against the evil government books or movies? Also are the comics better than the movie?
Friends, we have some great news post-holiday: we eeked past the 60% mark. We have 5 days left in our 2025 end-of-year fundraising. Help us reach our goal of $50,000 before the end of the year.
Watching Star Trek: Voyager tonight, and it's The Void episode tonight. Love when cooperation for the common good saves the day, it's very Star Trek.
Working my way through Star Trek Voyager
I'm going to share the Odd Blood series by @azaleacrowley.bsky.social because it makes me very happy. An undiagnosed autistic woman becomes the carer for a vampire with dementia and moves in with the household, which consists of two more vampires and a ghost. #AMoRaR
I think I would like to visit some early Irish Christians, the ones who built the High Crosses. Just for a short visit, would not want to live then.
For historical indie book, Tears of the Wolf by Elisabeth Wheatley is set in historical northern England with some magic. Very sweet romance. #AMoRaR
I love Guides for Dating Vampires by @dnbryn.bsky.social I love the autism and chronic pain rep. Also fun steamy scenes. #AMoRaR
I have to say inside, as I am very picky about outside conditions. But I love vicarious outsideness, which there is a lot of in A Crimson Covenant by Aimee Donnellan. The MCs camp pretty much the whole time on the run from the baddies. #AMoRaR
May Day Flowers by Faeri Sami is about a genderfluid Dryad falling in love with a human. Sweet and contemplative. #AMoRaR
I am currently reading A Promise Broken by S L D Cooper and one of the MCs is on the aroace spectrum. The most interesting part is that one of the perspective characters is 4 years old and I think written very accurately for that age. Oh, and that people sing their magic. #AMoRaR
My favorite story in the anthology Snowstorm and Overgrowth by Claudie Arsenault is about people illegally saving seeds when corporations have taken over all rights to seed and food production. The whole collection is delightful solarpunk sci-fi. #AMoRaR
Digital cover of Moonlight Love and Witchcraft by Vaela Denarr and Micah Iannandrea . Three people gather around a bar, all white, one with bright pink hair, one with short red hair and pointed ears wearing a leather jacket, and one the bartender with long brown hair wiping a glass
Mine would probably be Moonlight Love and Witchcraft by Vaela Denarr and Micah Iannandrea. 140k words. Sweet and soft and queer. #AMoRaR
A banner image for A Month of Rain and Reads featuring an illustrated autumnal scene with a dragon wearing spectacles and reading a book in an armchair. There is also a ghost cat playing with the dragon's tail. In the background are bookshelves, a cup of tea, pumpkins, candles, and rain lashing the window. The art was designed by Arden Powell.

Yall, if you feel the need to donate food to folks who need it that’s amazing. Do that. Just… don’t do it on Halloween. Don’t give kids ramen for trick or treats. Halloween is for candy & costumes-not being reminded that you’re poor. Let kids have fun & a night where they are just like other kids.
It’s literally lightyears more expensive to incarcerate and displace people than it is to meet their needs at a large scale. But for-profits like prisons want slave labour
That’s why they speed Black folk through the process at such a high rate
Your taxes pay for this to occur
Fire to the prisons
