I'm in a pickle - neighbor is a nice guy, and I complained about the last service he used because they were blowing his leaves into my yard (which I tend to myself, using a rake). Feel like I've cashed my chips already in this regard. What should I do? Nothing? Those bare areas will never grow back.
The reseller market has even penetrated to club-sized shows in the last couple years. Prices for some higher profile shows at the 40 Watt Club in Athens, GA have quickly gone insane. Hundreds of dollars to see Gary Numan!

Reading my old opinion pieces for my college newspaper a while ago, I can hear myself trying to fight through the Reagan-era brain poisoning -- sometimes getting there, but often falling short in a distressing white boy snark sort of way. Embarrassed in retrospect, I've thrown them away.
Feeling despair about the solipsism of the -maxxers and those they infect. In a purely time budgeting sense, what opportunity do these people have to pursue interests outside of themselves? Does edification as a goal mean anything to them, and what are the downstream effects of being so dulled out?

Elton John's "Ego" was the first music video I ever saw. It played in theaters before the movie FM, which I saw in 1979 I think. We didn't know what to make of it, I kept expecting Elton to show up in the movie but he never did.
