Virginia voters approve redistricting plan that could boost Democrats’ seats in Congress Virginia voters have approved a congressional redistricting plan plan that could help Democrats win up to four additional U.S.

This past November, Virginia voted for leaders who will fight for them. We’ve delivered—for Virginia and for the rest of the country. Now, we’re ready to fight for a Congress that serves the people rather than caters to Trump. Thank you, Virginia!

As our Jewish brothers and sisters observe Yom HaShoah, we honor the memory of the millions murdered in the Holocaust. May this day renew our commitment to confront antisemitism, bigotry in every form, and hatred that denies our shared humanity.

Lieutenant Governor Ghazala Hashmi Applauds the Signing of the Right to Contraception Act After Years of Youngkin Vetoes

RICHMOND, VA — Today, Lieutenant Governor Ghazala Hashmi released the following statement after Governor Abigail Spanberger signed the Virginia Right to Contraception Act:

“For the third consecutive year, Virginia’s General Assembly passed the Right to Contraception Act. After championing this legislation during my years in the Senate and watching it vetoed by Glenn Youngkin, I am pleased to see the legislation signed and codified into law by Governor Abigail Spanberger.

“As the last Southern state that has not imposed sweeping restrictions on critical medical care, Virginia has the responsibility to protect access to safe and legal reproductive health care. This legislation is supported by the majority of Virginians and affirms the Commonwealth’s commitment to protecting essential contraceptive medication and devices. Millions use contraception treatments for serious medical concerns, health reasons, and birth control. Every Virginian should be able to determine their own medical options without the interference of politicians.”

This is about more than one election cycle. It’s about whether we preserve a system that is fair, representative and responsive, & that gives every community a meaningful voice and every individual a genuine opportunity. That is why I voted YES, & why I hope Virginians will too.

First Lady Melania Trump suggested that AI robots could replace teachers. As a former educator, I know students need encouragement & learn best when they feel seen & supported. AI robots cannot replace that. In Virginia, we value our teachers & we invest in our students.
