I took my final DiDi ride on my way to Shanghai Pudong airport, chatting to the driver about EVs using the translation app.
Then caught the Maglev train at 300km/h.

My final morning in Shanghai consisted of walking to the Yu Garden in the rain, ducks and a local park cat being cared for by the staff...

My final dinner in Shanghai, China in an authentic dumpling restaurant with my new friend Jane and then one of the very popular butterfly pastries on my walk back to the Peace Hotel.

Much has been accomplished in such a short time and much more is to come as the journey has only just begun.

While the rest of the Australian crew made their way home, the dream continued for me, as I was whisked to Shanghai in my own 009 luxury van, checking into the legendary Fairmont Peace Hotel, at my own expense, taking in the stunning city skyline from the riverfront Bund.

Then we attended our final succulent meal and caught up with Frank Li, head of Zeekr Australia, who had just arrived to attend a Geely conference and the upcoming Beijing auto show.

Travelling in style in a convoy of Zeekr 009s we then made our way a short distance away to the first ever Zeekr showroom, where we saw the latest Zeekr models and heaps of merch.

Day 3 and we wrapped up our absolutely awesome experience on the Zeekr AU Light in Convergence China Tour with a trip to West Lake in Hangzhou.

After checking into another high-end hotel, we hopped on the bus heading across the city in rush hour traffic to the Gongyan Oriental Art theatre show, which was just fabulous, both the traditional characters and food.
Today we end the tour on West Lake in Hangzhou.

Then we the Zeekr AU delegation were given the privilege of an hour-long frank and open discussion with Zeekr vice president Mars Chen on the future direction of the company and its vehicles in Australia.
Plus I visited the Zeekr Lounge in the lobby, bucket list ticked!

First stop was the incredible automatic, robotic charging arm in the basement, demonstrated on a 007 sedan.
The good news is Zeekr plans to start installing charging infrastructure in Australia, non robotic to begin with.

We arrived in Hangzhou, which like recent days was under a natural atmospheric cloud caused by humidity and a temperature inversion, common for this time of year.
The Zeekr tower loomed in the distance, the second tallest building in this massive A-tier, high-tech city.

Day 2 yesterday was another awesome experience on the Zeekr AU Light In Convergence China Tour.
Departed the beautiful Ningbo Hyatt Park and hit the highway in our bus and fleet of Zeekr vehicles, heading for company headquarters in Hangzhou. 🧵

Yes heaps. Seems like about half the cars are in the two cities I've visited so far. EVs have green plates.

Excited to have used my Alipay and WeChat apps for your first time to buy some snacks so now I'm all set for my time in Shanghai.
So many amazing EVs on the road here like Xiaomi and a Zeekr 7X.
Also no bullet train, as Zeekr will drive me all the way from Hangzhou to Shanghai in a luxury 009 van.
