It’s probably a bot. The whole world is hanging on every word produced by a bot.

I would submit that a gerrymander by politicians saying fuck the voters and one by voters saying fuck the politicians are two wholly different animals

Immigration board denies Mahmoud Khalil's appeal, bringing activist one step closer to deportation The Board of Immigration Appeals has denied Mahmoud Khalil's latest attempt to dismiss his deportation case.

The Trump admin has targeted students, faculty, universities, law firms, journalists, newsrooms, protesters -- anyone speaking in even tentatively oppositional ways to those in power. But there's been particular attack on immigrants & Palestinian rights speech. Horrible: apnews.com/article/mahm...

That’s like an AI mashup of Abe Lincoln and Peaky Blinders.

It wasn’t staged. A man died. The shooter had a story that doesn’t fit their narrative and the shooter missed. It’s not that big a mystery.

One of my kids was hospitalized with RSV at age 2 (3 nights), and the other one was hospitalized with an unnamed respiratory infection complication from a tonsillectomy at age 2 (5 nights). These were terrifying events as a parent and medically very expensive. This is good news.

I took this as calling out people who wouldn’t vote for a woman but would vote for a man with the same positions. Maybe I am reading it wrong. Last 3 Dem nominees (or every candidate of my life except Obama 1) have definitely not been palatable from the left.

Well, this is true. Quite a few are majors that offer a BA and a BS in same dept, and one of them is being cut. I always thought it was weird to have both options, but it doesn’t cost extra at all and should be up to the departments.

We have all lost the plot.

Funny I was singing their songs in my head today. Enjoy!!

I said, I don’t like this and SB1 is bad. It just seems like a lot of attention is going to these major cuts and that is not really the biggest people with SB1 or state interference in unis in Ohio.

I think small numbers just mean it makes sense to ask the question, not automatically eliminate the major. And sure, UCSD should have kept that program, but should there be another state university within 20-50 miles with the same program?

Ohio has so many universities and it is hard to maintain every major at each one. A lot of unis are not far apart (Akron and Kent for example are about 15 miles apart). It is hard to maintain every program at each university. This has been an issue since I was in college in 90s. Kent BA, Akron MA.

Nothing is ever gonna beat Four Seasons Total Landscaping.

Between the Trump as Jesus/Doctor memes and Pete Hegseth quoting the “bible”/Pulp Fiction, I don’t think I’ve laughed this hard since Four Seasons Total Landscaping. A golden age of gallows humor, truly.

I enjoy reading the names at our graduation, which is a lot because it is like 300 names. Everyone else I have ever talked to about it at any level hates doing it.

I don’t love this, and there are lots of other problems with SB1, but should large universities really hate majors that graduate fewer than five students per year? Gen Ed classes, yes, but I don’t see how it make sense to keep majors under those circumstances.

Yeah, but they use that freedom of association argument to support racism, which is why it is best not to argue with stupid people.

Wide variation for me, lol. Depends how much steam I have left and how the class has gone. Two of my classes are basically just going to stop, the third one will have a mildly insightful wrap up day.

Second bus was also late. It is going to be over an hour. Sigh. Guess I will have to work late to make up for all this. It is what I get for going to a meeting that I should have gone to but totally could have gotten out of.

Also an old head (who am I kidding, he is probably younger than me) is listening to videos out loud at bus stop. FML, 5 more minutes to the bus.
