Nice! Thank you, will definitely check them out. Do you have some experience in using their service?

#flutterdevs do you know of an European alternative to serverless backends like firebase and supabase?

1 year ago 2 0 1 0

Used it in my side project for the first time in combination with get_it and I must say I really love it so far! Great work!

#flutterdevs How are you handling parts of a text with a different styling when you use text spans and localization?

AppFlowy.IO AppFlowy is an AI collaborative workspace where you achieve more without losing control of your data

Been using AppFlowy as a Notion alternative for a while since it's build with #flutter and is open source! It's also the only desktop app I know currently which is build with #flutter 🎉

If you want to check it out or contribute appflowy.io

Performance of Widgets or Helper Methods and const Widgets Ok, I just tried again to wrap my head around this topic on what improves UI rebuilding performance. In Investigate `const`ness · Issue #149932 · flutter/flutter · GitHub Michael Goderbauer makes th...

#Flutterdev let's try to settle this discussion on widgets performance once and for all 😉

Interesting that a non-const StatelessWidget has no performance benefits against helper functions. But still, like you said in your forum post, the benefits of StatelessWidgets still outweigh the use of helper functions

Does anybody have a recommendation for a Co-Working Space/ Café in Sydney?

Did my first small Dart server implementation with Dart Frog and must say, I really like it!
What do you guys prefer? #dartdev

Always thought about why there is no such thing as an IT-Union

Love it! On what device are you running Home Assistant? Been thinking about installing it too

I'd go even one step further, I actively close unused tabs as soon as the tab title is not readable anymore

1 year ago 1 0 0 0

Yeah agree, but how is it pushed in your company?
In the companies I’ve seen at least it’s still up to devs to use copilot if they want, and as far as I can see many don’t use it anymore for code completion for example due to mostly imprecise suggestions

Thankfully not yet, but I’ve been in an interview a while ago where they explicitly wanted me to use copilot 🤔

Good question but also tough one :D Especially as a startup I think it's more important to first invest into tools which increase value for the enduser directly. Feedback tools, Analytics tools, Translation tools, Error Monitoring. Then it's really hard to say which tool you would cut tbh

Just noticed I commented on the wrong question, sorry! 😂 but love the discussion

1 year ago 1 0 0 0

it does make sense to use a unified tool. I guess same goes for Analytics tools or Error Monitoring tools or even Translation tools. Then you’d have a scattered tool landscape real quick

Thank you so much for bringing it up! Well, for instance if you have a small team of let’s say 10 people. Few mobile devs, few backend and few frontend. Each Subteam having their own solution is feasible, but when you’re on a tight budget, want to report to Team Leads or C-Level about Code Quality

I would say simple as in it’s a costs vs. benefits thing. Feature wise DCM is way ahead of any other tool, but the other tools support other languages or frameworks pretty solid

1 year ago 1 0 1 0

For small to medium size companies I think it’s pretty simple. DCM is quite expensive and only works for Dart. SonarQube, Codacy or CodeScene are still pricier, may have bad Dart support but therefore support all other languages. I wish these tools had better support, then I’d definitely use them

Does copying work reliable for you? For me it doesn’t 🥲
Fiddler is paid right or do they offer a free plan as well?

1 year ago 0 0 1 0

Yes that is the biggest pain! 🥲 also I have issues regularly where they just won’t start 😂 I can recommend Http Toolkit, it’s not the most beautiful one but does its job. You would need to add a proxy to your http client in dart though

1 year ago 2 0 1 0

Curios what other #flutterdev ‘s use for monitoring http requests 🤔 do you use the DevTools Networking Tab or do you use something like HTTP Toolkit or even Charles?
I am thinking about creating something like HTTP Toolkit in #flutter with a cleaner interface

Didn’t try watch_it yet, so maybe I need to give it a try :) Yes, avoiding them at all costs feels like working against the framework instead of letting it work for you

Same, have had no issues so far :)

Stumbled over this comment today. I still don’t understand why some people would strictly avoid using StatefulWidgets at all costs 🤔
