Motivated by some very kind reviewers, we also found that when populations are surviving in a metastable state before going extinct, their dynamics can be described effectively by a much simpler OU process, which promises easier ecological inference!

We see that deterministic control parameter for survival also plays a role in stochastic version. True to the spirit of statistical physics, probability to survive for different carrying capacities collapse onto a single surface controlled by rescaled initial abundance and distance to criticality!
