Palantir put out the most cartoonishly evil statement possible. They’re so arrogant and self-confident they don’t seem to believe their fascistic plans can be opposed.

We must get rid of Palantir altogether.

Many people know Eugen Fischer. Only a small subset know Irawati Karve, the Indian PhD student who challenged his dominant theory.

And due to an ancient advanced autocorrect, it was written as "unclear" until scholars deciphered it to be "nuclear".

Road dividers preventing pedestrians crossing

Road dividers preventing pedestrians crossing

Road dividers run for long distances forcing pedestrians to walk what looks like at least 1km here before encountering a break. This is not unique to BLR and happens in many places in #Chennai too.

Guarded walkways that pedestrians can't get on to for lengths.

Guarded walkways that pedestrians can't get on to for lengths.

Guarded walkways .. that pedestrians can't get on to because they're blocked for lengths .. forcing walking on the streets. And yes they know about bollards.

A car parked on a pedestrian walkway.

A car parked on a pedestrian walkway.

Pedestrians should protest by mass-walking in the middle of roads because vehicles occupy walkways.

At yeshwantpur metro station in BLR - pedestrian walkways blocked off for pedestrians and allocated to two wheeler parking, and pedestrians have to walk on the streets. 🤦 Bengaluru is motor brained city when it could've been a walking/cycling haven like it used to be ages ago.

Unironically one of the reasons to work in a good programming language is it helps you clarify what you’re actually trying to do in the first place

Sometimes the program itself is unnecessary

Insane. They should be able to cut it down to 3 months with self driving garbage trucks, ML powered wifi enabled self sorting garbage cans and humanoid robots collecting the garbage, all of which are due to arrive in under a year. Why doesn't the east just ask the west?

People behind us believe it is their sound energy that pushes us forward. So generous. Though the physics of how they expect it to work for cycles as well beats me.

India’s Next Generation of Telescopes May Face a Disappearing Night Sky India has sanctioned its most ambitious investment in astronomy, centred on Hanle in Ladakh, its only dark sky reserve. But light pollution there is increasing, and India has no national law to address it. Chile’s battle to protect its telescope sites shows what is at stake.

It might be a part of something bigger. If there are more seats, women or men, then that would be favourable to parties with more money to buy the legislators who'll eye those seats. The game is likely not about percentage of seats.

Some colleagues use/pay for Kagi and am considering that myself for this reason, though to an extent duckduckgo is quite usable for simple uses. For research, bless the team still maintaining scholar.google.com

Not sure what the particular urgency to have *more* people yelling in the parliament is ... given all the things that need doing in our country. ... Unless it is a play to gain full control of the constitution .. by buying legislators who'll eye the new openings.

Hmm just reading about it. Thinking that if they just *asked* Iran for food, Iran will likely be culturally bound to give them food.

Is it just families trying to reach out? ... and what does this have to do with USPost?

I don't trust anything they say. If they say "same proportion", then their game is elsewhere. Possible that with a larger number of seats, parties will need more money and muscle to muster support in those seats and so the party with more money will win those. We know which one that is.

We can't read anonymously any more. Such a horrible regression in freedom. The only way to do that today is to walk into a bookstore not at a mall so you won't be on any cctv cam, buy a book using cash and read it .. and all of that is getting rarer.

The FP Launchpad takes off at IIT Madras

I was in Chennai today for the launch of FP Launchpad, a new centre at IIT Madras dedicated to crafting efficient, reliable and trustworthy software with mathematical guardrails. Having a well-funded, long-horizon centre of excellence in India is a big step forward! anil.recoil.org/notes/fpl-la...

Are you saying "the cost of using formal methods outweighs the benefits" or are you referring to the cost of LLMs versus their benefits?
